Love You . . . for Challenge YOUrself and Art Journal Journey Monthly!

Hi everyone.  It's hard to believe that it's June 7th already, but here it is.  Time seems to be flying by faster than ever this year!

It's time for a new challenge at Challenge YOUrself:

Challenge YOUrself #126 opened today and closes on July 4th:

This month's challenge is a sketch challenge.  The theme is to create a project using this PageMaps sketch:

You can use the sketch in any way that you like, and combine it with any other challenge, just not another sketch challenge, for obvious reasons.  And please remember to include at least one photo with YOU in the frame.

Here is the mixed media scrapbook page that I created for this challenge:

As you can see, I followed the sketch pretty closely.  I just love PageMaps sketches and really get inspired to create when I see them.  The background cloud paper is from Vicki Boutin's "Where to Next?" collection entitled "Window Seat."

The photos are of my hubby and me . . . the first is on our wedding day and the second was taken 30 years later.  Being married to him has made be so happy over the years.  Don't get me wrong, we have had our ups and downs (like most marriages) but we have worked hard to get to where we are today!
I also want to mention that the rainbow and heart are from ArtStacks . . . Lisa Oxley's Artist Series "Bright and Bold" pack.

I hope you get a chance to check out  Challenge YOUrself this month!  We would love to see YOUR projects.

I am also linking my page to Art Journal Journey Monthly's theme for June:

This month is hosted by Matilde at 100% Handmade/Craftowanie. Her theme for June is What Makes You Happy?
Madilde says "Please show us everything that makes you happy.  I'm looking forward to seeing your ideas for this theme.  I hope you will enjoy it and join is this month."

As you can see, I made a page about me and my husband, John.  We have been married for 34 years and I couldn't be happier!

I hope you get a chance to check out the all entries from the talented artists that take part in this challenge every month.  And I want to thank Matailde and Art Journal Journey for having this amazing challenge.

And thank you so much for stopping by my blog today.   Have a wonderful June!

Live Life in Technicolor!

Hi Everyone!

Today I am sharing a mixed media art journal page that I made for ArtStacks . . .

I made this page using Lisa Oxley's Artist Series stacks:  her Bright and Bold and Floral Fetish stacks from ArtStacks.  I LOVE working with Lisa's stacks!

Here is  my completed page:

For all of the details about how I made my project, please head over to the Artstacks blog!

I am also linking my project to Art Journal Journey, Monthly.

August's theme is When We Were Young and is hosted by the talented Chris from Pearshapedcrafting.  What reminds me of my childhood more than coloring, drawing and painting with bright, bold colors?  I always loved art, especially in grade school because I could do what I wanted without worrying about making "mistakes!"  This page definitely made me reflect on all of those art projects I made when I was a kid!!

Thank you, Chris and AJJ for having this wonderful challenge!

And thank you for stopping by my blog today.  Have a wonderful August. HUGS!

What a Day for a Daydream . . . for More Than Words!

Hi everyone!  It's time for the Mini-Challenge at More Than Words!

The MTW Mini Challenge runs during the last 2 weeks of the month and is for cards, tags, postcards, and ATCs only.  The Mini Challenge requires you to use one specific word and the actual word must be seen on your project.  You can enter the mini-challenge at the More Than Words Art Cafe on FaceBook.

This month's mini-challenge word is DAYDREAM. It's running a little early because MTW is celebrating their 150th challenge this month!

I made this fun tag using the lyrics from an old Lovin' Spoonful song:

I used Lisa Oxley's beautiful Floral Fetish papers and Bright and Bold tissue paper scribbles from ArtStacks to make my tag!

I hope you get a chance to play along with the More Than Words mini-challenge this month.  Not only are there wonderful prizes to be had, but there is so much inspiration, too!  It's going to be a month of celebrating!!

Thank you so very much for stopping by my blog today!

A Lovely Day . . . for ArtStacks and AJJ Monthly!

Hi Everyone!

Today I am sharing my newest mixed media scrapbook page that I made for ArtStacks . . .

I made my project using the newest Lisa Oxley Artist Series Stacks. I think they are amazing and so fun to work with.  As I said before, when I saw Lisa Oxley's stacks, I couldn't wait to use them!  They are entitled:  Lisa Oxley Bright and Bold and Lisa Oxley Floral Fetish.

Sharing the photo I used on my page:

It was taken on March 20 of this year after a late season snow storm!  My husband, dog, and I walk almost every morning these days!!!

Here is my completed page:

I am also linking my project to Art Journal Journey, Monthly:

This month's theme is "Play It Again Sam" and is hosted by the very talented Alison from Craftytrog.  Alison would like you to create a page based on your favorite movie or song this month.

I was inspired by and used TWO songs!!

First, I was inspired by a great song, Lovely Day by Bill Withers.  This song was released back in 1977 and was a big hit!  You can listen to it here if you like!  Warning:  you might want to dance the rest of the day afterwards -  LOL!

Second, I used the lyrics from a favorite song by John Denver, Rocky Mountain High.  You can listen to his song here!  It was released in 1973 and was one of John Denver's biggest hits.

I guess I am showing my age as 2 of my favorite songs were created in the 1970's!  LOL!

Thanks once again, Alison and AJJ for the inspiration.

And thank YOU for stopping by my blog today.  HUGS!

Try to be a Rainbow . . . for ArtStacks!

Hi Everyone!

Today I am sharing my newest mixed media art journal project that I made for ArtStacks . . .

I made my art journal spread using three different Stacks  –  I love how they all go together so well, and I especially enjoyed working with the two newest releases. When I saw Lisa Oxley's stacks, I couldn't wait to use them!  They are Lisa Oxley Bright and Bold and Lisa Oxley Floral Fetish.  I also added butterflies from one of my favorite tried and true stacks, the Anemones and Friends Corestack.

Here is my completed spread:

For all of the details about my project, please head over to Artstacks website.

I am also linking my project up to Art Journal Journey, Monthly:

The theme this month is Spring and is hosted by the very talented Valerie of Bastelmania.  My art journal pages remind me of new beginnings and Spring.  Thanks so much, Valerie, and AJJ Monthy.

And the colors in the stacks made by Lisa Oxley totally embody Spring, don't you think?

Thank you so much for stopping by my blog today.  Have a wonderful rest of your March. HUGS!
