Love You . . . for Challenge YOUrself and Art Journal Journey Monthly!

Hi everyone.  It's hard to believe that it's June 7th already, but here it is.  Time seems to be flying by faster than ever this year!

It's time for a new challenge at Challenge YOUrself:

Challenge YOUrself #126 opened today and closes on July 4th:

This month's challenge is a sketch challenge.  The theme is to create a project using this PageMaps sketch:

You can use the sketch in any way that you like, and combine it with any other challenge, just not another sketch challenge, for obvious reasons.  And please remember to include at least one photo with YOU in the frame.

Here is the mixed media scrapbook page that I created for this challenge:

As you can see, I followed the sketch pretty closely.  I just love PageMaps sketches and really get inspired to create when I see them.  The background cloud paper is from Vicki Boutin's "Where to Next?" collection entitled "Window Seat."

The photos are of my hubby and me . . . the first is on our wedding day and the second was taken 30 years later.  Being married to him has made be so happy over the years.  Don't get me wrong, we have had our ups and downs (like most marriages) but we have worked hard to get to where we are today!
I also want to mention that the rainbow and heart are from ArtStacks . . . Lisa Oxley's Artist Series "Bright and Bold" pack.

I hope you get a chance to check out  Challenge YOUrself this month!  We would love to see YOUR projects.

I am also linking my page to Art Journal Journey Monthly's theme for June:

This month is hosted by Matilde at 100% Handmade/Craftowanie. Her theme for June is What Makes You Happy?
Madilde says "Please show us everything that makes you happy.  I'm looking forward to seeing your ideas for this theme.  I hope you will enjoy it and join is this month."

As you can see, I made a page about me and my husband, John.  We have been married for 34 years and I couldn't be happier!

I hope you get a chance to check out the all entries from the talented artists that take part in this challenge every month.  And I want to thank Matailde and Art Journal Journey for having this amazing challenge.

And thank you so much for stopping by my blog today.   Have a wonderful June!

Perfect . . . for More Than Words!

Hi everyone!  It's the 12th of April and time for the  More Than Words Main Challenge second design team reveal.  (That includes me!  The first design team reveal is posted on the 1st of the month.)

Just to let you know, More Than Words is a challenge site that has a Main Challenge and a Mini Challenge every month.

The Main Challenge runs the entire month and contains a word inspiration and a creative challenge. Both need to be incorporated into your project.  The Main Challenge is open to projects like layouts, canvases, art journal pages or OTPs.

The Mini Challenge always runs the last 2 weeks of each month and contains one word inspiration and must appear on your project.  The Mini Challenge is open to cards, tags, postcards, and ATCs only.

This month's Main Challenge:

The Word Inspiration for April is Perfect and the Creative Challenge is the above sketch!

Here is my page:

It doesn't happen very often, but my husband, daughters, and I had a PERFECT morning when we took this photo! I enjoyed working with the creative SKETCH to make my layout using papers and embellishments from my stash.

Here are some close-ups:

Don't forget . . . there are amazing prizes to be won! More Than Words has changed to a "Regional Prize Structure" this year and there will be multiple Main Challenge Winners, one or more for each Region as follows: "Aussies and New Zealanders," "Europe," "USA," and "The Rest of the World."

I hope that you get a chance to check out the More Than Words Main Challenge this month!  I know you will enjoy it.

And thanks so very much for stopping by my blog today.  I hope you are having a wonderful April.  HUGS!

Silly Faces . . . for Scrap the Boys!

Hi everyone!

Welcome February!  It has been quite a year so far for my family, but I am happy to report that we are all fine and on the mend now.  Here's the story:

My husband and daughter, Katie were the first to get cold symptoms and a fever - around the 2nd week of January, then Anne, and finally me.  We all tested positive for the Covid-19 virus.  It started out being pretty scary,  because John was very sick with a nasty cough and shortness of breath.  His doctor was wonderful - he had many at home virtual visits and phone calls with her, took healing antibiotics, steroids, and an inhaler, and he finally turned to corner this past Thursday.  He is able to work from home and recuperate, which eases my mind a little.  The rest of us will be returning to the real world this week.  I have been depressed and exhausted, with my mom passing away on December 30, trying to care for and provide meals for my sick family, and taking care of cleaning and disinfecting everything in our home daily, and getting sick myself.  I have never been so happy to return back to work in my whole life! We received lots of prayers and support from our neighbors, coworkers, and family which helped bring us through.  I and sending a great big thank you to them from the bottom of my heart!❤

So . . . today marks a new month and with that comes a new challenge at Scrap the Boys!

This is the February Sketch Challenge:

And here is my design team take:

I used a favorite photo taken at Disney World during our family trip on 2007.  My husband and brother-in-law were trying on hats at the Norway Pavilion after we rode the Maelstrom flume - which we found to be a scary reverse flume ride with dark marshes, frightening trolls and demonic gods!  LOL!!!  Anyway, I love this photo of the 2 of them acting silly, so I had to use it here.  My supplies included watercolors and Echo Park "Magical Adventure" paper and stickers, all in my stash!!

And some close-ups:

I hope you get a chance to play along with the February challenge at Scrap the Boys!

Please stay safe and healthy!

Thank you very much for stopping by my blog today.  Hugs to one and all.
