Blue Fern Studios sad news and 3 new pages for September

Hi everyone . . . September is here and with it came very sad news about the closing of Blue Fern Studios.  I know that the scrapbook world will never be the same.   Please take a moment to read Leslie's post here.

Today I would like to share 3 new layouts that I made with BFS products. Two of my pages were made with their newest collection, "Happy Accident 2," but first, I would like to share a layout that I made using the "In the Mood" collection, which is one of my favorites!

Layout #1:  Sweethearts

I used a photo of my mom and dad on their wedding day.  She was 19 and he was 21 when they got married.  The "In the Mood" collection seemed so perfect for this treasured photo.

Here is a close up:

May layouts for Blue Fern Studios!

Hi Everyone!  Welcome May!

I am excited to be sharing the layouts that I created for Blue Fern Studios for May! ♥

I used the "Homespun" collection to create my first page.  Isn't it gorgeous?  I love the flip side of "Tea Time"(as seen below) and used it as the basis for my first layout:

My First Layout:  Home Sweet Home

I chose to use our family's Christmas card photo from 2016!

Here is a close up:

And a different view:

I especially enjoyed embellishing the raw chipboard floral/flourish wreath and using Homespun Printed Chipboard on this page.  I mixed things up by adding some Remnants Blooms here, too.

Blue Fern Product List:
Paper: Homespun: "Tea Time," "Homestead," and "Homegrown"
Chipboard: Homespun Printed Chipboard Shapes, Floral/Flourish Wreath
Embossing Powder: Ivory, Ivory Green, Garnet, Pure Red

Glitter: Rose Gold, Army Dust
Flowers: Remnants Blooms
Seedlings: Twig
Lace:  Lace 6

My last two pages were made with the beautiful "In the Mood" collection:

I think this collection is perfect for romantic, dreamy, and happy photos as you will see:

My Second Layout:  Spring Fever

I picked a photo that I took of Anne way back in 2010 when she was enjoying a Spring day!

Here is a close up to get a better look at the details:

And a different view:

This layout was so much fun and very easy to make!  I LOVED using the gorgeous "In the Mood" collection.

Blue Fern Product List:
Paper: In the Mood "Pensive" "Attracted," and "Dreamy"
Chipboard: In the Mood Printed Chipboard Shapes
Embossing Powder: Ivory
Stamp: Grungy Grid

My Third Layout:  Each Day

This page was so much fun to make!  I especially loved embellishing the beautiful chipboard "Castle of Dreams."  I found it perfect to go along with a photo of me from back in 2002.  I actually met Cinderella at Disney World and have a funny story to tell about that experience.  I told my story in hidden journaling on the back of my page.

Here is a close up of the castle:

And a different view:

And I have to mention that both of my daughters love this page because of the gold chipboard castle!!!

Blue Fern Product List:
Paper: In the Mood "Mellow"
Chipboard: Castle of Dreams, Each Day
Embossing Powder: Baby Pink, Antique Gold
Stamp: Arcadia Textures
Seedlings: Pink Topaz
Lace:  Lace 3B, Lace 9C

March Pages for Blue Fern Studios!

Hi Everyone!

I am excited to share 3 layouts that I made for March for the Blue Fern Studios design team.  ♥

Without further ado, here are my projects . . .

Layout #1:  Memories. . .

I have been going through old photos and attempting to organize them.  In the process, I have found beloved pictures that I want to scrap!  This one is of my oldest daughter, Katie, and is a definite favorite of mine.  I loved telling her, through this scrapbook page, to keep her beautiful inner light shining!

I used the beautiful "Homemade" paper from the Blue Fern Studios Homespun Collection and mounted it on the Wanderlust "Road Trip" paper because I loved the newspaper look.  And I had an amazing time framing the photo with the beautiful swirly chipboard that I embossed with Goldenrod embossing powder.

Here are some close ups:

Here's my Blue Fern Product List:
Paper: Homespun "Homemade," backed with Wanderlust "Road Trip"
Chipboard: Ornate Wreath, In the Mood Printed Chipboard Shapes, Homespun Printed Chipboard Shapes
Embossing Powder: Goldenrod
Flowers: Happy Roses
Seedlings: Twig
Lace:  Ivory braided trim

Layout #2:  Best Friends . . .

Again, as I went through my photos, I found an old one that I absolutely love.  It is one of my twin sister and me when we were toddlers.  Just look at those hair cuts!!  I love the way we were holding hands.

For this page I used "In the Mood" papers, flowers and printed chipboard!  I also used Shabby Brick Bits chipboard that I embossed and spruced up with some ink.

Here are some close ups for you to see:

And here is my Blue Fern Product List:

Layout #3: Family is a Circle of Love . . .

For my third and final layout, I used a recent photo that I took of my family with my tripod and timer at a nearby park!  We love this park and go for walks there all the time.  This photo was also used for our annual Christmas card.

I featured the amazing Amber and Apricot Collection here - it's so beautiful and a dream to work with.  Lace 9C is absolutely beautiful, too!

Here are some close ups so you can get a better look:

I Love You!

Hi everyone!
It's time for a new Challenge YOUrself challenge:

This month is all about using a Valentine's Day, heart, or love theme while using this color palette from Design Seeds:

And as always, those who participate cannot forget to include a photo with YOU on your page!

Here's what I came up with:

I have been going through old photos (trying to get more organized!) and found this one of John and I taken on our 10th anniversary, which was March 3, 2000.

That year, we splurged and planned a trip to NYC for our anniversary weekend. We made reservations at Tavern on the Green and thoroughly enjoyed the romantic meal we had!

I edited this photo, taken by our waiter, to black and white:

To make my page, I used paper from the newest Blue Fern Studios collection:  In the Mood!  It is absolutely perfect for romantic pages.  I used the "Dreamy" paper, the printed chipboard, and flowers from the "In the Mood" collection!

Here are some close ups:

I hope you get a chance to participate in the Challenge YOUrself challenge this month.  Perhaps you'll get a chance to scrap those photos about romance and love!!!

And also please head over to Blue Fern Studios blog to see what they are up to!!  There is always something beautiful to see there.

Thank you for stopping by my blog today.
