Happy Halloween . . . for ArtStacks and Art Journal Journey Monthly!

Hi everyone!  I am here today sharing a project that I made for ArtStacks.  First of all, I cannot believe that September is here already!!  And secondly, I would love for you to take a look at what I created . . .

I've made a mixed media art journal page using a pack from ArtStacks' newest "Seasonal Celebrations" category.

Tamara Laporte (#willowing) has done it again with a fabulous ArtStacks pack full of all sorts of Halloween trickery! Gorgeous witches, scary bats and spiders and oh-so-cute little monsters and pumpkins are supported by words and other images to match.

This pack is available in both digital and printed forms.

Head over to www.artstacks.com.au/shop to see what's inside this pack!

And here is the art journal page that I made:

I couldn't wait to create something with Tam's new, amazing "Trick or Treat" pack.

Here are my creative steps:

  • Tamara Laporte’s “Trick or Treat” pack was used to create a Halloween-themed art journal page.
  • I used digital images that I printed at home.
  • “Spooky” sheet music was adhered to a page in my manilla art journal.
  • The 'witch, cat, and pumpkins' images from the pack were used as my focal point.
  • Complementary water-colored swirls and machine-stitched circles were added.
  • Tissue paper bats were added using gel medium and allowed to dry.
  • The fussy cut crescent moon was glued to the top of the page.
  • The entire page was stitched around.
  • The “Happy Halloween” title from the pack was added using pop dots.

It was so much fun combining the paper and digital images. I hope you’re inspired to make a Halloween-themed project of your own!

I am linking up my page to Art Journal Journey Monthly's challenge for September.

This month is being hosted by Mia from Craftartista.

Her theme for September is ‘Make Your Own Background!'

I loved making my own background on my art journal page for Mia's theme.

I also want to take a moment to thank you to everyone at AJJ. I look forward to creating something for their challenge every month.

That's it for today.  Thanks for stopping by my blog!  Enjoy your September.

Full Deck Challenge and Art Journal Journey Monthly!

Hi everyone! Have you heard about Shana Bebeklis' Full Deck Challenges?

Shana started her Full Deck Challenge Group on FB a few years ago for members to share their altered playing cards!  She has recently opened her new challenges for 2025 and is using color prompts.

Here is my first submission for 2025:     #FDC3 -  Week 2 -  ORANGE

All of the paper I used, including the distressed playing card, the sentiment, the bird house, and funky leaves are from Shana's "Full Deck" pack at ArtStacks.
You can see Shana's packs in detail at www.artstacks.com.au/shop

The rick rack and orange flowers are from my stash.

I loved participating in her little weekly challenge. My project was so fun and easy to make. If you are interested in entering these challenges, head over to FB at https://www.facebook.com/groups/466739141045977

I am also linking up my project to Art Journal Journey Monthly for January:

Don't Wait For the Storm To Pass . . . for ArtStacks and Art Journal Journey Monthly!

Hi everyone!  Today I'm sharing a project that I made for the ArtStacks Artist Team.  I am up on their blog today!

I created a mixed media scrapbook page using their new release Tissue Backgrounds pack:

FYI:  each pack contains backgrounds designed for use in all forms of papercrafting and are printed on ArtStacks' amazing tissue. And, if you like to print at home, a digital version of this pack and a "Blank Tissue" pack are available!  Head over to www.artstacks.com/au for all of the details!

Here is my page using four ArtStacks packs including their newest Tissue Backgrounds pack:

I decided to make a mixed media scrapbook page using a photo that I took of my daughter, Anne, way back in 2015.  I LOVE the new TISSUE BACKGROUNDS releases and used the Newsprint, Starbursts, and Cloud/raindrops in my background.  I added pieces from Shana Bebeklis’ FULL DECK pack:  the Heavy Cardstock background, the butterflies, and the newsprint printed on dictionary paper.  In addition, the Wall Background is from the DOORS & WINDOWS CARDSTACK;  and the strips of Rippable Paper are from Lisa Oxley’s FLORAL FETISH pack.  I made up my own title for this page.

Many of my elements, the photo, the background images, the strips for the title & background, and ephemera are in rectangle or square form making it fit into this month's Art Journal Journey "Geometric Forms" challenge.

I enjoyed making this project using Artstacks products and hope that I have inspired you to create one, too!

I am also linking my project up to Art Journal Journey Monthly's theme for April:

This month is hosted by Valerie at Baastelmania.  Her April theme is Geometric Forms. Valerie says "this theme covers anything using one or more of these forms in your art work - circles, squares, triangles, lines, etc. I love them and I hope this challenge will renew your acquaintance with these forms."

As I mentioned above, I used rectangles and squares on my page, using photos, embellishments, strips, and ephemera which are in square/rectangular forms!

I hope you get a chance to check out the entries from the talented artists that take part in this challenge every month.

And again, I want to thank Valerie and Art Journal Journey for creating this amazing challenge.

And thank YOU, so much, for stopping by my blog today.  Happy Crafting!  Enjoy April.

Woof. For ArtStacks and Art Journal Journey Monthly!

Hi everyone!  Today I'm sharing a project that I made for the ArtStacks Artist Team.

I created a mixed media scrapbook page using their brand new release "Tissue Backgrounds" pack:

FYI:  each pack contains backgrounds designed for use in all forms of papercrafting and are printed on ArtStacks' amazing tissue. And, if you like to print at home, a digital version of this pack and a "Blank Tissue" pack are available!  Head over to www.artstacks.com/au for all of the details!

Here is my page:

I started by using a piece of 8.5" x 11" watercolor paper. I found a photo of our sweet dog, Abbey, that I knew I wanted to use on this page.  (Abbey is the LIGHT of my life!!!)   I painted my background with the word LIGHT in mind and added touches of yellow to my page. I allowed it to dry then added some texture using distress paste and a stencil that I had in my stash.  Next I added the grid, butterflies, and tic-tac-toe tissue paper from ArtStacks new "Tissue Backgrounds" pack. I love Deb Weiers "Wonky Critters" pack and used the word "Woof" and her dog sketch on my page.  Next, I added some black paint splats and squiggles. Finally, I adhered the phrase "Attitude is Everything" which is from Shana Bebeklis' "Full Deck" pack.  (Also, the word "Curious" is from ArtStacks "Faces and Figures" Corestack.)

I enjoyed making this project using Artstacks products and hope that I inspired you to create one, too!

I am also linking my project up to Art Journal Journey Monthly's February challenge:

This month's theme is hosted by Vicki Parson from stampedsmile.com  Here theme is "LIGHT."  Vicki says "Light can have so many different meanings and so many different ways to interpret it.  For example:
sun, moon, stars, candle, lantern, bulb, illuminate
colors(subtle or subdued tones or shades)
an idea(shedding some light on a subject)
interpretations (light as a feather, light snowflakes, let your heart be light, let your light shine, etc)"

As you can see, I made by page about of pet dog, Abbey!  She is the LIGHT of my life, and my husband's and daughter's lives, too!

Thank you, Vicki and Art Journal Journey for your inspiration this month.

And thank YOU, so much, for stopping by my blog today.  Happy Crafting!

Hi everyone!  It's October and time to share a page that I made for the ArtStacks:

I absolutely love Tracy's packs and couldn't wait to create with them again . . .

Here is my mixed media art journal page:

I started by using background paper from a 49 and Market kit entitled "Sunburst Ultimate Page Kit" that I have in my stash.  Next I painted with bright pink acrylic paint, then added Tracy's beautiful images from her amazing "Love Lives Here" kit.  It was so simple and easy to make.

I enjoyed making this page and hope that I inspired you to create one, too!

Hi everyone!  I'd like to share a page that I made for ArtStacks with you today:

I made a mixed media art journal page using one of ArtStacks' new releases!  This time, I used Tracy Verdugo's Artist Series pack entitled  Love Lives Here:

And  to mix things up a bit, I added images from the amazing Wings and Things pack:

I am still crushing on these packs and couldn't wait to create with them again!

I started with a watercolored background and added some texture using machine stitching with black thread.  Next, I fussy cut one of Tracy’s beautiful angels from her
 Love Lives Here pack:

and adhered it to my page.  I popped the colorful title from the same pack after I cut it into a heart shape:

Finally, I gave the angel some beautiful blue wings and added 3 butterflies from the Wings and Things pack:

Trust the Process . . . for ArtStacks!

Hi everyone!  I'd like to share a page that I made for ArtStacks today:

I made a mixed media art journal page using ArtStacks' newest releases!  They are Tracy Verdugo's Artist Series packs entitled Under the Sea and Love Lives Here:

Aren't they beautiful?  I couldn't wait to rip open the packages and start using them when they arrived in the mail.

Here is my mixed media art journal page:

I absolutely loved working with these new releases! I started with a pink background and added texture with stencils and white texture paste. I used Tracy Verdugo's Under the Sea pack and a couple of dies that I had in my stash to cut my pieces.    Next, I added the pieces that I had fussy cut and die cut from Tracy's beautiful art.  Finally, I added my title with pop dots.  The title was taken from Tracy's Love Lives Here pack.

You can find Tracy Verdugo's Artist Series packs at www.artstacks.com.au/shop!

I am also linking my page to  Art Journal Journey Monthly's theme this month, which is
Where in the World?

August is hosted by Chris from Pearshapedcrafting.   Chris says:  "I would like to see places, people, and customs, in fact, anything memorable about your chosen destinations.  It can be about somewhere you have visited, but it doesn't have to be."

When I saw Chris's challenge this month, I knew that I wanted to enter! My page is about Under the Sea, which is an imaginative destination.    I visited "under the sea" when I swam in the ocean numerous times, and also when I was on a glass bottom boat off the coast of Florida a few years ago!

Thank you, Chris, and everyone at Art Journal Journey Monthly for your never-ending inspiration and encouragement!!!

And thank YOU for stopping by my blog today.  I hope you are enjoying August!

Have Faith . . . for ArtStacks!

Hi everyone!  It's nearly the end of July and I have one more page, made for ArtStacksto share today:

This time, I made a mixed media art journal page using ArtStacks' Art & Nature pack from the Gelatin Printing Enthusiasts' new releases:

Here is my art journal page:

I absolutely love and had to feature the ArtStacks image entitled "Light in the Trees" by the very talented Vicki Reid from their "Art & Nature" pack. The serene image of the birds, trees and light spoke to me and inspired me to create my art journal page made about faith. I also stitched on sentiments from Tamara Laporte's "Fabulous Faces" pack to help convey my feelings.

You can find the "Gelatin Printing Enthusiasts" packs at www.artstacks.com.au/shop!

I am also linking my page to  Art Journal Journey Monthly's Come Fly With Me theme:

This month is hosted by Alison whose blog is Craftytrogs Arty Adventures and theme for July is "Come Fly With Me."

Alison says: "For this theme, you can use anything that flies.  Birds, Insects, fairies, aircraft, hot air balloons, etc,  can all be used on your pages.  I hope you have fun, and I'm looking forward to seeing your beautiful art!"

If you look closely at Vicky Reid's beautiful image, you can see birds sitting on the ground, in the trees, and one is even flying!

I want to thank ArtStacks and Vick Reid;  and Art Journal Journey and Alison for their  inspiration this month.

And thank you so much for stopping by my blog today!
