Today is the first day of the new challenge over at Challenge YOUrself!
This month's challenge theme is about Ali Edwards' One Little Word. You pick a single word to focus on for the year . You can learn more about this concept at Ali Edwards' blog here!
I picked the word "home." I have been thinking a lot about home lately and thought it would be a good word for me to focus and reflect on this year. Home is a sanctuary, a place where I live with my family. It's not just a shelter from the cold, heat, wind, and rain. Home is a place where I feel secure. It's where my family comes together to love and support each other in good times and in bad. We and share everything at home. It does not matter how big or small. Every day I wake up and thank God for my home.
Here is the layout I created for this challenge using a photo with me in it and the word "home."
I enjoyed using my new Echo Park "Oh Holy Night" scrapbook kit that I received as a Christmas gift from my dear sister this year.
I would like to share this page at Art Journal Journey this month:
Their challenge is all about geometric shapes. I used half circles, triangles, squares, and rectangles on my page. I hope you check out their blog because I always get so much inspiration there!!
I also hope you get a chance to check out and enter Challenge YOUrself this month. I know you will love the One Little Word theme.
Thanks so much for stopping by my blog today. HUGS!
Beautiful layouts and photos, and I will be singing 'country roads' all day now! Have a happy and creative new year, all the best to you and your lovely family, hugs, Valerie

ReplyDeleteYour home must be a very special place to you and your family. I can read that in every post and art layout you make. You've chosen a very special word for the year, a word which says what really matters to those of us who are so lucky to have a happy home.
ReplyDeleteI love your layout too, it is really precious.
