Choose Happy!

Good Morning everyone! I hope you are having a wonderful weekend.  How are you all doing?  How's your weather been?  We finally got some much needed rain the past 2 days and our temps are down a little today.  It feels like fall is on it's way.

Today I would like to share a layout that I made for the Scrap our Stash design team.  My theme for this layout is still about summer as you will see.  I am up today at the blog and I would be honored if you checked it out here:

Challenge #30 involves using items from our stash as follows:

This is how I used the items in my stash:

L:  Lindy's Stamp Gang copper mist and Lindy's Stamp Gang ocean breeze mist
A:  Aqua burlap
Y:  Yellow cardstock
E:  Echo Park stickers
R:  Ric Rac (white)
S:  stitching

And this month we are teaming up with Stuck?! Sketches.

You have the option to used their September 1st sketch as seen below:

Isn't this sketch amazing?  I loved working with it!  And remember, if you use their sketch, you can link it up to their September 1st challenge.

Here's my layout:

The photos that I used were taken in our back yard during our adoption travel group picnic in July!  Our pool liner needed to be replaced, so we used our slip-n-slide instead and as you can see, the younger kids had a blast!  Here are some different views of my layout:

I would like to finish with some more photos that I took at our adoption travel group picnic.  We try to get together at least 2 times per year with these wonderful families.  The girls that were adopted from China have known each other since they were 10 months old!  And the families of these children have become very good friends of ours - we consider them to be part of our family!!

Here are some photos from this year's picnic:

 The slip-n-slide photos:

Aren't they cute?!

Here's Anne with one of her friends:

Best friends forever:

The younger ones being silly:

Thanks for stopping by my blog today!  I hope you enjoyed taking a peak at our little travel group that has grown by leaps and bounds since we adopted Anne in 2003.

And for you scrappers, please check out the current Scrap our Stash challenge!

Sending hugs to you!  ♥

Nisha has one special friend she have stayed in touch with from the children's home she was in and now she is of an age where they can email each other to stay in touch.. 21. How ingenious to use your art material matching the letters in the word "LAYERS" and also use the sketch so brilliantly and incorporate your personal photos. I am always fascinated by the different kind of artwork I find here.

  23. Hello Sharon!! I just had to come by and talk about THE MIDDLE!!! OMG!! It was sooo good and so funny and so sad! I laughed and cried, that means it had to be good. I won't spoil it in case you haven't watched it yet. But I will say I love the "new" thing that happened with Sue.
I've been working hard on my PL and posted 17 pages today, YAY!! Let me know about The Middle when you can.

Also, we had to put my grandma in a Nursing Home this week, it was to much for us to take care of her now. Please keep her and the family in your prayers. Thank you!

HAPPY 2ND DAY OF FALL TOO, YIPPEEE!!!
    Love and hugs,
