Moving into fall . . .

Good Morning everyone!  I hope you are all enjoying your Sunday!  We are having the most beautiful fall weather right now.  It is clear, crisp, and there is a chill in the air.  But I don't mind.  Fall is my favorite time of the year, and I can feel it coming, soon!

Soon we will be moving from this summer scene:

To this:

I know that it will happen in the blink of an eye!  Both photos were taken at Jacobsburg Park, the first one was taken last weekend, the the second one last October.  No matter how hard I try to stop it, I know that time will continue to fly by and I will welcome fall with open arms.  And we will get to see Katie again very soon - she is coming home the first weekend in October.  I can't tell you how happy we all are about that!

Now for some scrapbooking!  On this beautiful Sunday morning, I would like to share a layout that I made for the Color Me Scrappy design team.

It was made using their beautiful color palette as follows:

The twist for this challenge is to use texture on your page.  Here is mine:

And some close ups:

Of course, I had to use photos from our summer vacation and I thought these taken at Mount Rushmore were absolutely perfect for the color scheme!  I added texture to my layout by using different textures of paper, buttons, sewing, and liquid pearls.  In addition, I saw a wonderful sketch made my Heather Landry at her blog and just had to use it as a basis for my page.  Here is her wonderful sketch entitled "Love Is Free:"

Heather's blog is chock full of wonderful inspiration.  If you want to see all of her sketches and freebies, check out her blog entitled Miracles' Momma Designs.

If you want to see what the rest of the design team created for this challenge and find out more details about it, go to the Color Me Scrappy blog.  You can also see the blogs new look and design, too.  I think it looks fabulous!  Oh, and there is a wonderful sponsor for a prize for the month of September here.

And last, but certainly not least, I would like to leave you with a photo that I took of Anne this past weekend.  It was taken just down the street from us next to a field filled with soy beans.

I am trying out some new techniques that I am learning in my photography class using Photoshop CS6.  Our lesson this week was about "soft and ethereal."  At first I thought the blur made me feel a little dizzy.  What do you think?

Enjoy your Sunday everyone.  Thank you so much for taking the time to stop by my blog today!

  1. The photos are beautiful- that looks like a wonderful place to visit. Such a striking difference that one would not always notice unless it was presented this way. Your layout is spectacular! I love all the buttons and detail work- the large die cut really pulls it all together. Thanks for the link to her site, I will be checking it out. And lastly, that effect is cool. It's a super sweet photo.

Your scrapbook page looks wonderful! I have to scrapbook more often and still have to scrap some photo's of our little girl, but I am a bit behind schedule (because of the moving...)
Your photo of Anne is so COOL, I love it. I always like the blur background effect in combination with the full sharp Anne in front. So maybe a new picture to scrapbook....
