(A short history of the Freddy Awards: In 2003, the State Theatre Center for the Arts became the first performing arts center in the country to produce a live television show to recognize and reward outstanding achievement in local high school musical theater. The Freddy Awards are named after J. “Fred” Osterstock, the legendary “Fred the Ghost” of the State Theatre, who managed the company that owned the theatre from 1936 until his death in 1957.) The 2012 Freddy Awards Ceremony will take place on Thursday, May 24th. They were announced live on Channel 69 news yesterday. Photographers from the Express Times were present at each high school to photograph the recipients' reactions, live! To see the article, go HERE!
Vanessa was the first to receive a nomination from Nazareth as outstanding performance by a featured dancer. This was everyone's reaction:
Next, Ryan, Zack, and Mikaela were nominated for outstanding small ensemble performance for "Good Morning!"
Miss Gwen was nominated for outstanding choreography!!
Tess was nominated for outstanding featured performance by an actress for her song "What's Wrong With Me?"

Then the biggest and most wonderful surprise of all happened:
They announced the Student Achievement Award and The Express-Times Internship recipient and guess what? It was Katie!!!!!!!!
