Life is Good . . . for Challenge YOUrself!

Hi everyone!  It's time for the new reveal at Challenge YOUrself:

This month's theme is a fun one . . . it's all about colors:

The challenge is to use black and white on your page, plus one color of your choice! I chose to use the color teal, and sprinkled various shades of it throughout my page.

Here is my take:

I started by using a sheet of 12 x 12 black and white checked background paper.  I went to my stash and had fun using some old Stampin' Up sets and the Cocoa Vanilla Studio "Sunkissed" collection that I had on hand!

I converted a favorite photo to black and white.  I was recently invited to Ocean City, NJ, to see 2 friends from college and used this photo as the basis for my page:

Here are some different views of my layout:

I really hope you get a chance to check out Challenge YOUrself this month.  I loved using black and white plus various shades of teal to make this page!

And thank you so much for stopping by my blog today.  Hugs!!!

Hello . . . my Friends . . . for Challenge YOUrself!

Hi everyone!  It's the 7th of September (can you believe it??) and time for a new reveal at Challenge YOUrself:

This month's theme  is a wonderful one - it's all about friends:

Here is my take:

When thinking about what photo to use for my layout, I couldn't help but remember my friends from our Chinese travel group.  We traveled to China in 2004 and adopted our daughters (18 years ago!) and we have since become lifelong friends!  I used a photo of all of us together at a gathering in 2019:

Here are some different views:

I used papers from PinkFresh Studio and a stencil that I purchased from Willowing Arts (Tamara Laporte) a few years ago.  I added stamping from a Stampin Up set, too!

I hope you get a chance to check out Challenge YOUrself this month.  I had fun using washi tape and I don't normally use it, so it got me out of my comfort zone, too.

And thank you so much for stopping by my blog today.  Hugs!!!

Everyone Say Cheese!

Hi everyone!

Today is the first day of the new Challenge YOUrself challenge.  Just in case you don't already know, it's a challenge blog that asks you to make scrapbook pages with photo of YOU in the frame.  A lot of us don't do this, so it's a great way to get YOU in front of the camera!!!

This month's challenge is all about using black and white PLUS red on your page:

And here is my take:

I scrapped a photo of me with my family back in 2016.  I LOVE this photo, which is bitter-sweet because we recently lost our dear dog, Kita!  I enjoyed using black and white plus red on the majority of my page, and sprinkled a bit of yellow and blue in there, too.

I used Cocoa Vanilla Studio "Boys Rule" paper and title,

Echo Park "Magical Adventure" paper and stickers:

and the Stampin' Up "Balloon Celebration" punch and stamp set:

Here are 2 close-ups:

and a different view:

I hope all of you fellow scrappers out there get a chance to check out and participate in this month's color-themed challenge.  I know you will love scrapping those photos with YOU in the frame!! And I think your family will enjoy seeing these pages as much as mine does, too.   My daughters especially love seeing the photos with me in them.

Thank you so much for stopping by my blog today.  Have a wonderful month of March!  HUGS!!!
