Favorite Photo . . . for Scrap the Boys!

Hi everyone!  It's so hard to believe that it's June already.  Hope you are all enjoying it so far.

Today I am sharing my scrapbook page made for this month's Scrap the Boys challenge.

After being on this team since January, 2019 and have made the difficult decision to resign.  I want to thank Rachel Lowe for everything and also the wonderful design team that I worked with.  They are all very talented and so friendly.  I am going to miss them, but look forward to seeing all of their beautiful work on social media!

So without further ado, here is this month's challenge:

I knew exactly what photo I wanted to use when I saw this challenge:

It's a photo of my nephews Owen and Logan, taken soon after Logan was born in 2006.

And here's my completed page:

With some close-ups:

I totally enjoyed making this page and loved using these 49 & Market papers and embellishments, too.

Thanks so much for stopping by my blog.  I hope you get a chance to check out Scrap the Boys this month!

I am leaving Scrap the Boys with my best wishes to the design team and Rachel, too!

HUGS!!

Be Merry . . . for Scrap the Boys!

Hi everyone - welcome May!  YAY!

Today I am sharing the latest layout that I made it for Scrap the Boys:

 May's Challenge is  . . . Winter is Coming!

Since the challenge is based in Australia, Winter will be coming for them soon, just like Summer will be here before you know it in the USA!

Here is my take on the Winter challenge:

I found this wonderful photo of my uncle taken in 1948 in one of my mom's photo albums.  He passed away a few years ago, making it all the more special.

Here are some different views of my page:

I used Pink Fresh Studio "Christmas Wishes" paper and embellishments that I had in my stash. I thought they were perfect for the challenge theme and this photo.

I hope you get a chance to check out Scrap the Boys this month!

And thanks so much for stopping by my blog today.  Your visits are very much appreciated.  Hugs!

Enjoy Every Moment . . . for Scrap the Boys!

Hi everyone! I am so excited to welcome April and warmer weather.  I can finally feel Spring in the air, which makes me very happy.

And with a new month, comes a new scrapbook challenge. Today I am sharing my latest layout that I made it for the April challenge at Scrap the Boys:

Here is the challenge board for this month at Scrap the Boys:

It's a monochromatic challenge. Pretty cool mood board, right?

And here is my take:

I have been very nostalgic lately and have been using vintage photos from my mom's photo albums.  This one is of my dad taken on the boardwalk in Atlantic City in 1959!!  I used old Blue Fern Studios paper, chipboard and ephemera from my stash.  Thought they were perfect for this monochromatic challenge.

 Here are some closeups:

I hope you get a chance to participate in our challenge this month.  I had so much fun and I know you will, too.

Happy April!  I appreciate all of you so much. Hugs!!!

Happy . . . for Scrap the Boys!

Hi everyone . . . Happy March!

Today I am sharing my latest layout!  I made it for the newest challenge at Scrap the Boys:

This month's challenge is to "take three" of the options listed and to use them on a scrapbook page with a photo of a boy/boys:

I used a cut file, ephemera, and stamping on my page.  I featured the Cocoa Vanilla Studio "Merry and Bright" collection and the beautiful large die cut and backing kit! Here is my take:

I picked a favorite photo of my nephews Owen and Logan taken at Christmas in 2012.  We were at my mom's home decorating gingerbread houses, which was a tradition of hers.

Here are some different views:

I hope you get a chance to play along with us this month!  I know you will have a great time!!  To find out more about the challenge, please check out their blog here!!

Silly Faces . . . for Scrap the Boys!

Hi everyone!

Welcome February!  It has been quite a year so far for my family, but I am happy to report that we are all fine and on the mend now.  Here's the story:

My husband and daughter, Katie were the first to get cold symptoms and a fever - around the 2nd week of January, then Anne, and finally me.  We all tested positive for the Covid-19 virus.  It started out being pretty scary,  because John was very sick with a nasty cough and shortness of breath.  His doctor was wonderful - he had many at home virtual visits and phone calls with her, took healing antibiotics, steroids, and an inhaler, and he finally turned to corner this past Thursday.  He is able to work from home and recuperate, which eases my mind a little.  The rest of us will be returning to the real world this week.  I have been depressed and exhausted, with my mom passing away on December 30, trying to care for and provide meals for my sick family, and taking care of cleaning and disinfecting everything in our home daily, and getting sick myself.  I have never been so happy to return back to work in my whole life! We received lots of prayers and support from our neighbors, coworkers, and family which helped bring us through.  I and sending a great big thank you to them from the bottom of my heart!❤

So . . . today marks a new month and with that comes a new challenge at Scrap the Boys!

This is the February Sketch Challenge:

And here is my design team take:

I used a favorite photo taken at Disney World during our family trip on 2007.  My husband and brother-in-law were trying on hats at the Norway Pavilion after we rode the Maelstrom flume - which we found to be a scary reverse flume ride with dark marshes, frightening trolls and demonic gods!  LOL!!!  Anyway, I love this photo of the 2 of them acting silly, so I had to use it here.  My supplies included watercolors and Echo Park "Magical Adventure" paper and stickers, all in my stash!!

And some close-ups:

I hope you get a chance to play along with the February challenge at Scrap the Boys!

Please stay safe and healthy!

Thank you very much for stopping by my blog today.  Hugs to one and all.

Ho Ho Ho . . . for Scrap the Boys!

Hi everyone!  It's December 1st and time for a new challenge at Scrap the Boys:

This month's challenge is all about Christmas traditions:

I have been feeling very nostalgic lately and missing all of our loved ones who have passed away.  My mother-in-law absolutely loved Christmas and all of her traditions that went with it.  I recently found a photo of my husband and his brother taken back in 1985.  They were on their way to their church's Christmas Eve service.  John was home on leave from Germany (he was in the army) and wore his uniform to church.

Here is my completed page:

I used Pebbles "Merry Little Christmas" collection to make my page.  I absolutely love all of the adorable things that came with this pack that I purchased from My Little Scrapbook Store!

Here are some close-ups:

I hope you all get a chance to check out the December challenge at Scrap the Boys!  I know that everyone probably is very busy this month, but I know you will enjoy it as much as I did!

Thanks so much for stopping by my blog today.  I am so thankful for all of your visits and comments!!!

Hugs!

Trick or Treat . . . for Scrap the Boys!

Hi everyone!  Today is October first and time for a new challenge at Scrap the Boys!

This month's challenge is all about Halloween:

I found an old photo of my husband and his brother on Halloween from 1968 that I absolutely LOVE!
My husband, John, is on the left and his brother, Jim is on the right.  Aren't their costumes adorable?!!  I believe my mother-in-law made them.

Here is my completed page:

I used Doodlebug Design Halloween paper along with their spider and web cut files!

Here are some close-ups:

I hope you get a chance to check out their challenge this month!  You'll get a chance to scrap about the boys/men in your life and have fun in the process!

Thanks for stopping by my blog today!  Happy October!
