Architecture is Art We Live In . . . for ArtStacks and Art Journal Journey Monthly!

Hi everyone, I’m excited to share something new I created for the ArtStacks design team!

First of all, I LOVE their newest "The Architect" pack!

I enjoyed making this art journal page using the digital version of the pack:

To learn more about this pack and my page, head over to the ArtStacks blog!

I hope this has sparked some ideas for you to start your own project!

I am also very excited to link up my project at Art Journal Journey Monthly for March.

Chris from pearshapedcrafting is their host this month, and her theme is "Spring forward."

Chris says:  Meteorological Spring starts March 1st, although I still prefer the traditional 21st of March, as that was my Mum's birthday. Lots of events take place in Spring - Easter, May Day, Mother's Day, and of course, the changing of the clocks, which means more time to enjoy spring flowers and bird songs

My page is about Spring because the photos of the Metropolitan Museum of Art were taken in Spring!

I hope I have inspired you to check out Art Journal Journey Monthly. It gives you a chance to contribute artwork to this month’s challenge, and it’s a great way to discover incredibly talented and friendly artists from around the world.

Thank you so much for stopping by my blog today.  Happy March!

Attitude is Everything . . . for Art Journal Journey Monthly and ArtStacks!

Hi everyone!  I am here today sharing a project that I made for ArtStacks.

I've made a mixed media art journal page using a focal image from one of ArtStacks newest packs:

This pack is available in both digital and printed forms. You can check out www.artstacks.com.au/shop to see what's included inside!

Here is the art journal page that I made:

This is how I created it:

  • To begin, I selected my focal image, which is the stunning owl from Tamara Laporte’s ‘Trick or Treat‘ pack. I digitally printed it to achieve the desired size.
  • I painted my background off-white with acrylic paint.
  • Next, I adhered the beautiful deli paper leaf images from Tam’s ‘Wonderful World‘ pack.
  • I incorporated tissue paper images from the ‘Tissue Backgrounds‘ pack, including the grid and newspaper print designs.
  • Subsequently, I added the scribbles and doodles from Lisa Oxley’s ‘Bright and Bold‘ pack, as well as the black leaves from Lisa Oxley’s ‘Floral Fetish‘ pack.
  • I attached the owl image to yellow cardstock and positioned it on my page. I machine stitched around the page.
  • Next, I added the sentiment from Shana Bebeklis' Full Deck pack.
  • And finally, I added stamped clocks to go along with Wendy's "A Moment in Time" theme.

For more information about ArtStacks, head over to their website

I am linking up my page to Art Journal Journey Monthly's challenge for November.

This month is hosted by Wendy from Wendy's art and craft journal.

Wendy’s theme for November is ‘A Moment in Time!’ She says it can mean different things, as long as it’s about time.

I totally enjoyed making my art journal page to go with Wendy’s theme.  And I want to thank everyone at AJJ for their continued support. I always look forward to creating something for their monthly challenges.

Have a fantastic November everyone! It’s officially the start of the holiday season for me!

Take Chances for ArtStacks and Art Journal Journey Monthly

Hi everyone!  I am here today sharing my latest project that I made for ArtStacks!

This time, I made a hybrid art journal spread using ArtStacks' new 'Artist Series' releases made by Birgit Koopsen.

Her first pack is titled Essential Elements:

And her second pack is called Forest Walk:

To see everything that is included in these incredible packs, head over to ArtStacks!

Here is the hybrid art journal spread that I made:

I began by using the printed version of Birgit’s background paper from her Essential Elements pack and adding it to my art journal. Next, I added some black and white paint splatter to the background. Then, I digitally added her black and white leaves to the outside edges of my pages. I love this look!!  The bird's leaves, quote and 2 feathers are from Birgit’s digital Forest Walk pack. Finally, I added the beautiful image of the woman, printed on acetate, from the Essential Elements pack.

I definitely hope that I have inspired you to create.  I highly recommend Birgit's new releases!

I am also linking my page up to April's theme at  Art Journal Journey Monthly:

This month is (once again) being hosted by Erika from BioArtGal.  Her theme for April is "Spring Birds."  She says . . . "Think about spring and think about birds.  Your art journaling can be bird related, spring related, or spring AND bird related.  That's up to you."

I enjoyed making my "Take Chances" spread and added 2 bird feathers to the bottom of my pages for Erika's challenge.

I hope you are able join in on the fun for Spring at Art Journal Journey this month!

Thanks for stopping by my blog today. Happy April!

My Heart . . . For ArtStacks and Art Journal Journey Monthly!

Hi everyone!  I am here today sharing my latest project that I made for ArtStacks!

Did you know that ArtStacks has new releases? Yes, they do, and they are fabulous!

They have two new Artist Series packs by the renown artist, Birgit Koopsen.

"Birgit is a printmaker, mixed media artist, teacher, produce designer and content creator. Her love of colour is obvious in her bright, happy work!"

Birgit has created two new ArtStacks packs.

Her first pack is titled ‘Essential Elements’

Birgit’s second pack is called ‘Forest Walk’

Head over to ArtStacks to see everything that is included in these incredible packs!

Here is the mixed media scrapbook page that I made:

I felt so nostalgic creating this page using a photo taken of me with my family at Jacobsberg Park back in 2017. It holds a special place in my heart, especially since it’s where we used to go on our daily ‘Forest Walks.'  It feels just like it was yesterday.

Jacobsberg Park will always be thought of as home because it was the perfect place to escape when we needed a break from the hustle and bustle of life.

I used both of Birgit Koopsen’s new Artist Series packs from ArtStacks to make my page.  I highly recommend them!

I hope this scrapbook page has inspired you to create one of your own!

I am also linking my page up to March's theme at  Art Journal Journey Monthly:

The month of March is hosted by Erika from BioArtGal. Her theme is "Home Sweet Home."  She says:  "Your project can be about your own home if you want.  Remember, there are many types of homes.  You can also think about things inside a home or even what makes a home.   . . . Just make sure your page relates to the idea of home."

I enjoyed making my page about my family and our walks at Jacobsberg park, which always feels like home to us!

I hope you get a chance to join in on the fun at Art Journal Journey Monthly this month!

Thanks a bunch for stopping by my blog today. I hope you have a happy March!

Trust the Process . . . for ArtStacks!

Hi everyone!  I'd like to share a page that I made for ArtStacks today:

I made a mixed media art journal page using ArtStacks' newest releases!  They are Tracy Verdugo's Artist Series packs entitled Under the Sea and Love Lives Here:

Aren't they beautiful?  I couldn't wait to rip open the packages and start using them when they arrived in the mail.

Here is my mixed media art journal page:

I absolutely loved working with these new releases! I started with a pink background and added texture with stencils and white texture paste. I used Tracy Verdugo's Under the Sea pack and a couple of dies that I had in my stash to cut my pieces.    Next, I added the pieces that I had fussy cut and die cut from Tracy's beautiful art.  Finally, I added my title with pop dots.  The title was taken from Tracy's Love Lives Here pack.

You can find Tracy Verdugo's Artist Series packs at www.artstacks.com.au/shop!

I am also linking my page to  Art Journal Journey Monthly's theme this month, which is
Where in the World?

August is hosted by Chris from Pearshapedcrafting.   Chris says:  "I would like to see places, people, and customs, in fact, anything memorable about your chosen destinations.  It can be about somewhere you have visited, but it doesn't have to be."

When I saw Chris's challenge this month, I knew that I wanted to enter! My page is about Under the Sea, which is an imaginative destination.    I visited "under the sea" when I swam in the ocean numerous times, and also when I was on a glass bottom boat off the coast of Florida a few years ago!

Thank you, Chris, and everyone at Art Journal Journey Monthly for your never-ending inspiration and encouragement!!!

And thank YOU for stopping by my blog today.  I hope you are enjoying August!

You are Extraordinary . . . for ArtStacks!

Hi everyone!  It's the last day of May and I have one more art journal page to share for ArtStacks this month:

This time, I made a 12 x 12 mixed media art journal page.  I made it using ArtStacks' Artsy Animals and Fabulous Faces packs from Tamara Laporte's Artist Series new releases:

Here is my art journal page:

I started with a watercolor background of teals, blues, and greens, then added some white stenciling.  I featured the incredible image of the cow from Tam's Artsy Animals pack.  It really stood out for me because my family has always had a love of cows.  We walk by a farm down the street from our home every morning, and when they are out, the cows run over to the fence to greet our dog, Abbey!  They make my heart sing every time!!!

I've also added some flowers and other Vicki Boutin embellishments to add some whimsy!  (Also, the hanging black star is a tissue paper image from Tam's Fabulous Faces pack!)

And even though it's the last day of May,  I still would like to link this up page to  Art Journal Journey Monthly's Flowers theme

This month is hosted by Aimeslee Winans.  You can check out her blog here:  Paper Paisleys Art Adventures.

Aimeslee's theme for May is FLOWERS.  She says:  "One thing I dearly love about both seasons  (Spring and Fall) are the many flowers that bloom, so I have chosen flowers as our theme for May."

Thank you, Art Journal Journey and Aimeslee!  I had so much fun creating this page!!

And thank YOU so much for stopping by my blog today.  I cannot wait to see what June has in store for us!

You Shine . . . for ArtStacks and Art Journal Journey Monthly

Hi everyone!

Today I am sharing an art journal page with all of you.

I am using new images from ArtStacks:

They recently released 2 new Artist Series packs featuring their new artist, Tamara Laporte!  "Tamara is known on Instagram as #willowing and her incredible art is an inspiration to us all."

Here are Tam's new Artist Series releases:

Fabulous Faces:

Artsy Animals:

Here's the art journal page I made using Tam's packs:

The image of the woman and the flowers are from the Fabulous Faces pack. The tissue paper butterflies with the tiny stars are also from the Artsy Animals pack. I used 2 sheets of background paper that are recycled from the 49 and Market's collection that I had in my stash. I also used some molding paste and a stencil (from my stash) to make the sun's rays. And of course, the stitching was made with my sewing machine. In addition, I added some extra tiny black stars that I made using a Tim Holtz die and black construction paper from a tablet that my mom gifted me many years ago when she retired from teaching.

To learn more about Tam's packs (and all of the available packs), please head over to ArtStack's shop.  And while you are there, you can check out their blog to see what the talented design team members are creating.

I am also linking my spread to the March Art Journal Journey Monthly challenge:

This month is hosted Bleubeard and Elizabeth, AKA Altered Book Lover and  they are focusing on ways to save the planet in their journal pages by Recycling, reusing, and repurposing.

Elizabeth says:  "Recycle a portion of that beloved birthday or Christmas card, reuse those patterned security envelopes, repurpose those cardboard boxes Amazon is so famous for, or those 512 used tea bags you’ve been hoarding.  Turn them into collage fodder for your art journals.  While you’re at it, let us know what you recycled in your entry, so we can applaud you, too."

This topic really caught my eyeI recycled everything on my page except the ArtStacks images, which are new.  Thank you, Bleubeard and Elizabeth, for hosting this amazing challenge.

And thank you so much for stopping by my blog today!

Happy crafting . . .
