Snow Much Fun . . . for Art Journal Journey Monthly!

Hi everyone!

I am so excited to be hosting at Art Journal Journey Monthly again for the month of December!

Art Journal Journey Monthly is a challenge site that has a different host each month who picks a new challenge theme for you to join in on. There are so many incredible and friendly art journalers, altered book artists, rubber stamp addicts, and mixed media artists from all over the world that play along every month You can join in by linking your project up to their site using the Link tool provided.

For December, I chose the theme Winter. I love how versatile this theme is and hope YOU love it, too! You can create pages about winter activities, winter holidays, winter weather, or anything else that inspires you. Or, you can give your pages a title like “Winter Wonderland” or “Winter Solstice.” Whatever you come up with, I’m sure it’ll perfectly capture the essence of Winter.

Here’s the first page I made for December:  A mixed media scrapbook page:

I took this photo of our daughter Anne waaaay back in 2013! She loved winter and anything that got her outside back then. Even snow shoveling was her thing! I knew that I wanted to use this adorable photo as soon as I came across it.  I framed/matted the black and white photo in red and white, framed it, and added some “messy" thread behind it. Next, I picked the adorable background paper from Alexandra Renke and adhered my photo to it. I affixed my title using different alphabet stickers I had in my stash. I placed some fun, red embellishments here and there to give my page a little more interest. And finally, I matted the whole page on a red background. That's it!  It was so easy to make, and now the memory is preserved forever!!

I’m so honored to have been asked to host again at Art Journal Journey Monthly. Head over to their site (at the highlighted link) and join in on the fun!! I can guarantee you a wonderful time!!

I want to thank you so much for stopping by my blog today.

Have a very Happy December. I hope to slow down and enjoy the hustle and bustle of the holiday season.
