This Beautiful Moment . . . For Art Journal Journey!

Hi everyone!

Today I am sharing a mixed media scrapbook page that I made for Art Journal Journey Monthly!

Mia is hosting this month's theme, which is flowers!  Perfect for the month of May, don't you think?!  April showers bring May flowers . . .

Here is the photo of Anne that I found from 2015.  I knew that I wanted to use this one for the flower theme:

And here is my completed page:

I used grid and pink patterned paper from my stash, and a border punch that I had almost forgotten!  Then I stamped and inked the 12 x 12 border myself.  I found a fence piece at the bottom of my chipboard bin that I embossed in white, distressed, and added to my page.  The title and some of the flower pieces that I added are from Cocoa Vanilla Studio and my stash.

Here is a close up:

And a different look:

I also had the chance to plant some flowers!  We have had a bit of colder weather on the way, and hopefully no more freeze warnings are foreseen this month.

I hope you are all well and safe.  Our county in the state of Pennsylvania, has not eased up on it's restrictions yet, but we are hoping that they do so in the month of June.

Thanks so much, AJJ, for having this wonderful challenge!!!

Thanks for stopping by my blog today.  Hugs to all of you.

  9. This is beautiful. You had a beautiful photograph to begin with but what you have done with it must have been spurred on by the beauty of the pose and picture of Anne. I love how you have framed her behind a picket fence with some pretty flowers.
I am not a scrapbooker but I think this is one of the nicest LO's I have seen in a very long time.

  17. What a lovely photo as the starting point for this beautiful floral page. I love the colour-divided background with the horizon line as the position for the wonderful layered collaging. The picket fence makes for a great structural element amongst all the pretty flowers. And fabulous pink splatter too, leading the eye upwards. Simply lovely.

  22. Oh Sharon, I apologize for taking so long to visit. I'm still trying to get over a horrible illness. I'm not even sure you will see this comment I'm so late visiting. Every time I come here, I find something more I absolutely fall in love with. This is a fabulous scrapbook page. I like how you divided it with the the grid paper at the top 2/3 and the pink at the bottom 1/3. The way you highlighted the photo by layering it made it even more special. It was such a beautiful entry with all the flowers and Mia's theme at Art Journal Journey. Thanks for sharing it with us.

  23. The way you put everything together is so skilful, Sharon. I love all the pink, the pink heart and butterfly and the lovely flowers. I always especially love the way you include your family in your artistic layouts and that is a lovely photograph of Anne by the flowers.
Thanks very much for your recent visits to Orange Esmeralda, I always enjoy your enthusiastic comments. I haven't been in Blogland very much in the past months but I hope I will be there a lot more soon.
