Note to Self!

Good Morning everyone!  For those of you who live in the United States, Happy Labor Day!

I am sure that a lot of you have the day off, so enjoy it with your family!  We are going to spend the afternoon with my mom - take her out to her favorite place for a picnic lunch.  What are your plans?
(To learn more about Labor Day, you can visit Wikipedia here.)

This morning I would like to share the newest challenge at Challenge YOUrself - the blog that challenges you to scrap with a photo with YOU in it!

Here is this month's challenge:
And my take on it:

As you can see, the challenge asks you to use the phrase "Note to Self."  I had this photo of my twin sister, Karen, and me that was taken at Penn State on Katie's 21st birthday.  I love this photo!!!   I scrapped about our relationship and how my mom has told me that it hasn't always been easy.  Since I have been taking care of my mom for the past few months, she has told me about the ups and downs of raising twins.  So, I decided to make a scrapbook page about it - my hidden journaling is behind our photo.

Here are some different views of my layout:

. . . and I would like to end with some photos of Karen and me through the years:
(Can you tell us apart?  It's hard, right?)

That's Karen on the left and me on the right in the last photo was taken about 5 years ago at a concert.  Twins rock!

Hope you have having a wonderful Monday everyone!  Please check out the Challenge YOUrself challenge this month!  Thank you so much for stopping by my blog for a visit today.  Hugs!

  11. Hello Sharon! How fun to see a twin page and photos! So cute, in some of them the hair is slightly different which I hope made it easier on people to tell you apart. My twin sisters weren't identical in looks or personalities, so funny how that happens. How nice that you can hear stories from your mom too, my mom tells us some too.

Your layout is pretty and great job with the sketch as always.

Thank you for your blog visit, love sharing sunflowers and art with everyone. Hope your picnic with mom went well. It's so hot here, we had a picnic at a park with swimming to beat the heat. Felt like summer vacation all over again. Take care and hugs for all! xo

  12. It must be really interesting to hear your mom's perspective on life with twins. You had a great idea to record this perspective on a scrapbook page. The design of the page is really eye-catching, and I especially like how you used the frame and the pops of red.

Happy Belated Labor Day! I went hiking with my family yesterday, and I am so sore today. It was worth it, though. I got a lot of beautiful photos at the park we visited, and I'm sure they'll make their way onto scrapbook pages soon. :)

  20. I always wonder how it must be to have a brother or sister who looks exactly like me. It's like looking at yourself all the time, isn't it? It seems so weird and interesting to me. And you two really look alike, I couldn't tell you apart. You made a wonderful layout with this picture!
