Today I would like to share the newest challenge up at Challenge YOUrself!
If you don't remember, Lynn started this challenge blog because most of us do not like to have our own photos taken:
Hey you! The one who likes to snap hundreds of pictures of everyone else. Yes, you know who you are! It's time to start getting in front of the camera and scrapping memories that include YOU in the photo! Join us once a month and challenge YOUrself!
I have loved being a part of this design team since the beginning, and now we are up to Challenge #20! Can you believe it?! Time flies!
Here is my take on the color challenge and awesome sketch:
With some different views:
This photo that I used was taken at Anne's moving up ceremony in June of this year:
She spent the last 3 years at the intermediate school and "moved up" to middle school this past June. She will enter 7th grade in the fall. Talk about time flying!!! Wasn't it just yesterday that she was a little girl?
I would like to end with some photos from Anne's big day:
They had a slide show of each student from the past 3 years:
Here's Anne getting her certificate:
A close up:
One last stop at her locker that was hers for the past 3 years:
Proud Mom with Anne:
Even prouder Dad with Anne:
And here she is:
A bittersweet day! We wish the best for Anne in middle school this fall!
And a big thank you for stopping by my blog today! Please check out Challenge YOUrself this month! You won't be sorry.
Bittersweet indeed....I reckon the years between 13 & 18 just FLY....but you will know that already. I swear I missed them, somehow! I certainly have Very Few photos of the boys then....prob cos they screwed their noses up, or ducked away, or rolled their eyes!!! ANYWAYS....I'm sure girls are different.... & this page is GORGEOUS.....LOVE the pink. I want a girl so I can scrap pink!!! And the jewels. YUM!
ReplyDeleteThat is a great challenge, I have printed it off.. you never know.. i might get time this month.. hehe.. love your layout.. that pink is stunning.. and lovely photo too.. and yes time flies by.. your photos are so special.. Anne sure is a beautiful young lady.. We had a magnificent day here today.. it is supposed to be winter but the sunshine was warm and inviting.. I do believe we have some really cold weather coming by the weekend.. time to fill up the wheel barrow with wood and be ready!! Have a good evening!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous page and gorgeous photos! You all look so happy and Anne is a gorgeous girl! I remember how quickly they grow up - my son is 33 and my daughter is 34 - they will always be my babies though! xxx

Time sure flies! What great photos of the day! Nice page, Sharon. I like your interpretation of the sketch and color choices. Fun meandering stitching, too. :)
ReplyDeleteShe's tall too! Love the picture at the locker!
ReplyDeleteShe is so beautiful and I don't blame y'all one bit for being proud. Your photography is amazing! Thanks for sharing her achievements with us.
ReplyDeleteI can kind of relate to this, because my Wee Man moved up from Infants, to Juniors just before Summer break, so after the holidays he will be staying at school until 3:15 instead of 2:30. It's hard seeing them growing up so quickly (too quickly), but so very proud to see the progress made.
ReplyDeleteOver here in the UK, Infants are aged 4/5 to 7/8 then in the fourth year, which Wee Man moved to is Juniors. He turns 8 next week.:o))
How really lovely and touching to see you both with Anne. You all look so happy together.
ReplyDeleteYour layout picture is just perfect with the distressed bright pink background, the little banner in the top left, all the other additions, and especially the photograph and your note.
Love your page! The paper and the embellies are great! Congrats to your daughter! They grow up so fast!
ReplyDeleteThat pink weatherboard paper is amazing! What a perfect backdrop for your precious photos of this event. Yes, the years fly by...... its great we have photos and LO's to make us pause for a while
ReplyDeleteI love that you've been able to scrap yourself yet still tell a story about an important milestone. Fabulous!
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful way to commemorate your daughters special day!! Love the mother daughter spread...such pretty colours too! All the photos are wonderful...thanks for sharing! All the best for your daughter in middle school.... I see some very proud parents in those photos!! As she looks back one day she will see how loved she is!!
