Totally addicted to . . .

Hi everyone!  We are in the midst of another great big snow storm. And oh my goodness, the snow really came down hard for awhile:

I am so grateful to be off work today.  My office closed, John's office closed, and of course, all schools are closed.  So we are all safe and warm here at home.  (And Katie called from Penn State and she is fine, too!)

If you read my last post, I have been trying to embrace the snow instead of despising it.  Having a snow day at home gave me time to make a scrapbook page.  I found inspiration at the "Once Upon a Sketch" blog.  I have been admiring the work done at Once Upon a Sketch for a long time and actually got the courage to enter two challenges last year.  I was very happy that I did.  WOW!  The inspiration there is simply amazing!

Without further ado, here is the sketch for their current challenge:

And the journaling theme this  month is "Totally addicted to . . . "

It was so easy for me to come up with something that I am addicted to - of course, it's Anne's sweet smile!

Here is the page that I made with using a photo of Anne when she was playing in the snow without a care in the world:

And some close-ups:

Here's my journaling:

After making my page, I went through some photos and got so happy seeing Anne's smile over the years.

Here she is on her baptism day, December, 2003:

An adorable toothless grin on Mother's Day in 2009:

The fall of 2011:

A wind-blown smile a football game in 2012:

So now you can see why I am addicted to that smile!

Thank you, Once Upon a Sketch, for giving me the inspiration to make this scrapbook page today!

And thank you all so much for stopping by my blog.  I hope that you all are staying safe and warm.

Hugs to you all!

  2. Perfect. I love that it is not blue like so many other snow LOs. The red is just enough to set off the picture of your lovely (and almost grown-up!) Anne.

We had a big rainstorm on Tuesday night and our snow is mostly melted or it's piled by the side of the road in great gray globs. The beauty of snow is so fleeting... one moment it is white and lacy and wonderful and the next moment it is icy and gray and lots of work. Sigh.

    Stay warm, my friend!

  7. Hi Sharon- I like your attitude- no use in despising the snow or winter! That's what happens where you live in February. It's easy to get off track and complain, but when you take a measured moment and give it sincere thought you come to the conclusion that there are far worse things. And the upside is you got a day at home, safe and sound, with family. I like your take on the sketch- nice work. Happy <3 Day :)

  10. Oh, that smile is so beautiful! I can see why it makes you so happy to see it! That's the one good thing about snow days, you have the time to kick back and do things that make you happy! Have a Happy Valentine's Day, Sharon. Stay warm and safe. We got about 7 or8 inches after the rain knocked some of the snow back.

  11. She is such a sweetie. Love your take on the sketch. We are having blazing hot weather at the moment with afternoon temps of 34 degrees Celsius. We spend a lot of time cooling down in the pool.
