Good morning everyone! I just heard last evening that we are going to get more snow beginning tomorrow night. It is going to be a "big one" and we are predicted to get 8 to 14 inches with accompanying high winds and a possibility of ice. Oh my goodness. Will it ever stop? Yesterday, Anne and I got locked out of our house because the front lock was frozen shut. After that happened and I heard about more snow, I was wallowing in self-pity!! But then I decided to embrace the snow - what else is there to do?! So here is a page I made about the "beautiful snow" in downtown Bethlehem, PA . . .
I used a gorgeous sketch from the current challenge at the
Scrap Africa blog as the basis for my page:
And my layout:
With some close-ups:
And here are some more snow photos that I took while walking with my husband this past weekend:
That's it! My way of trying to "embrace" the snow.
I hope all of you are warm and dry today and throughout the next weeks. Please stay safe!
Hugs to all!
HI.. Well we are definitely warm and dry here, in fact a drop or three of rain would be really nice as it is very dry once again here.. I love your snow photos, I am trying to imagine what snow is like to look out and see soft whiteness everywhere.. amazing.. Love your layout too.. gorgeous colors and wonderful take on the sketch too.. stay warm and dry!!hehe!!
ReplyDeleteAnd we are completely OPPOSITE here ... we are expecting 90 degrees on Valentine's day :( I am not ready for it to be that HOT all ready :( I loveeeeeeeee your page!!! Just gorgeous!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteYou did great! I can't imagine the winter you guys have been having back east- my sister-in-law says she is "So over it." Even our small amount of snow got old after awhile and the laundry sure piled up!
ReplyDeleteI really like the picture you chose of the tree-lined street. I bet it is also beautiful in the spring and fall.
Hang in there and stay safe!
We are having a super hot and windless summer. For me it can never be to warm...I would never be able to handle weather as extreme as yours. Your page is beautiful...I love the way you interpreted the sketch. So glad you had time to play along with us at Scrap Africa.
ReplyDeleteWhat a fantastic piece to embrace the snow!! I love it. That lamp post is to die for! Good luck tomorrow. We're supposed to get this one too because it's coming up the coast. You've had so much more than we've had, so I guess I can't complain. Stay warm and safe, Sharon!
ReplyDeleteSo pretty Sharon and your photo's are fabulous. I just love your colour palette and the lamp is awesome. xx
ReplyDeleteIt's beautiful. Good for you for embracing it. It's not like you can make it stop or go away, so you might as well embrace it!

Good on you for 'embracing' the snow...bit of an ice maiden embrace, I imagine...but....LOOOOOVE your page...that corrugated board is perfect & it really does look magical. Probably not to YOU, but from hot & bush fires burning Australia......not so bad!!!
