A new sketch!

Good Morning everyone!  Happy Thursday.  I hope you are all having a good week so far.  We had a real tease this past weekend when our temps reached the spring-like 50's.  Karen, Anne, and I visited my mom at her rehab facility on Sunday and actually took her for a walk around the grounds with just a jacket on.  It would have looked like spring, too, had it not been for the piles of snow everywhere:

And now for all of the scrapbookers out there, I would like to share a new sketch by Pam Callaghan at

All of the contributing artists on the team made a page using Pam's amazing sketch.  You can see what they all have done by going to the blog  here!

. . . and here is my take:

My page is all about "Indulgence" and how I love the series Dowton Abbey!  I used the Prima papers from the lyric collection that I had on hand, used a chipboard piece for my title from "ScrapFX," and some heart punches.  It is a very simple layout and only took me about 20 minutes to create!

Here are some close-ups:

As you can read by my journaling, I love everything about this show and will miss it until next season.  I really like being transported to another time and place and especially enjoy seeing the fashions.  Here are some beautiful examples:

I know some of you love watching this show just as much as I do!  (If you want to learn more about it, you can check out the official website here.)  Who are you???  What shows do you love to see? Let me know in your comments!  I would love to hear about your addictions.  I don't get a chance to watch many TV shows, but always try to make time for this one!

I hope you are all having a wonderful Thursday . . . and don't forget to check out

Hugs to all!

  1. Hi.. Oh I love that show too, it has just started back on tv here.. I love the clothing they wear and that mansion they live in is amazing.. I love the 2 sides of the house, the family and then the servants down the bottom.. I was most saddened when Matthew was killed in the last series and now Mary has to get on with her life without him.. I do hope this season goes better.. (if you know please dont tell..hehe!!) Love your layout too, very elegant and that is a great sketch.. Another show I like to watch is the good wife, I like the law side of it, not necessarily all the affairs the cast get up to though.. I also like bones for the way they solve cases.. My hubby likes castle and I will watch that with him.. I tape the shows and then we watch them during the day when we are relaxing.. Can fast forward through the ads then!! So thats a bit more about me!! I hope you are having a good day and your mum is a bit better too.. We are heading into autumn and that means cooler mornings for us!!

  2. Wow your layout is beautiful, so soft . That snow is amazing , looks like Pavlova's. Glad your Mum is getting better. I have never watched that tv series, perhaps I should because I really LOVE the fashion in those days. I actually don't watch a lot of TV , to much scrapping to be done :) I have been watching Revenge though, a lot far fetched , but I have been sucked in, sad I know.

  4. This layout is fantastic! I love Downton and I'm sorry the season is over for another year. I would love to be a costumer for the show!! Or even a wardrobe mistress! We watch a lot of the British mysteries because I'm a real mystery reader and it's always fun to see how they translate to TV. Did you get more snow the last 2 days? The weekend was really beautiful, I'm happy you and your daughters got to enjoy it with your mom.

  5. Beautifully done layout! I keep hearing about this show, but haven't watched any of it. I don't really watch much TV to tell the truth, so no real addictions here! LOL!

  6. Beautiful layout! I'm one of the people who hasn't watched Downton Abbey - I thought I was the last one, but based on the comments above, I'm apparently in the majority!

  7. I love your page and the sketch Pam drew. I too haven't seen it, but have heard of it. The first season has been added to my netflix queue recently, but hasn't made it here. I don't watch a lot of TV either and actually until recently haven't had any cable or anythingfor about 5 yrs. We recently added an antenna in the attic space in the garage to pick up local networks.

  9. Great take on that sketch!! And nice to see it's ALMOST springlike-ish in your neck of the woods....DH won't watch Downton Abbey, so that's out....gotta share the TV!!! We like things like Grand Designs... & also I'm a HUGE Agatha Christie fan, so Poirot or Miss Marple 'speak' to me mightily!!!!

  11. I love your layout, and what a fabulous theme! I am a huge Downton Abbey fan too. I didn't know that it aired in the USA. (I am in Australia). We don't have television reception where I live so I have to wait till the episodes come out on DVD and we borrow the entire season from the library and watch it in one sitting!!

  12. Hi Sharon, what a gorgeous layout this is. I love all the pretty's on it and pictures, so pretty. Sadly, I haven't watched this show, know that everyone does love it though. I like that you used it for your layout. How nice for you ladies to enjoy being outside and taking a walk. I bet your mom loved that!!! It was nice here too and Summer and I walked at the track, YAY!! Of course the temps went right back down and I didn't get back out all week. Just going that one time lifted my spirits and felt so good.

I don't watch much tv actually, seems I watch less the older I get. I'd rather be doing crafts or reading. The few I watch though are The Middle and Modern Family on Wednesday nights, I love these shows. On Thursday's I watch Grey's Anatomy which just started back up, YAY!! On Friday nights I just started watching Tree House Masters with Sam. That's it, not much or too exciting.
I just posted my Hello March, can't believe another month is gone by.
Happy Weekend and stay warm!! HUGS!

  14. I'm so glad to hear your Mom's doing better and was able to enjoy a walk outside. I really love, love this elegant page you've created. Beautiful design and photos. I've heard a lot about this series, but sadly I've not watched it yet. I generally don't watch tv that much, but I might make a point of watching an episode when it returns.

  15. Wonderful scrappage, and I love Downton Abbey, too. I once visited Highclere castle, the original, and it is just breathtaking! Hpe spring finds you soon, Valerie

  16. Hello again, just wanted to thank you for you comment. So happy to see you there and find out that you like the same Wednesday shows as me. I can't seem to find anyone that watches them. The Middle cracks me up so much, those kids are crazy. I just read in a magazine that Sue is really 22, can you believe that. What a great actress to pull off being SUE HECk, lol. They had a picture of her and she is so pretty and doesn't wear braces, they are just for the show. What I like the most is that their life isn't perfect, it's REAL LIFE and NORMAL. I also LOVE that Frankie narrates at the beginning and the end of the shows, I love that and it's like what I do with my days. In the morning I pray about my day and all that might happen and at bedtime I reflect on it and the lessons/stories from it. LOVE THIS!!
The Modern is good too and some have me laughing but the Middle is really my FAVE!! So glad we have this in common now too.
Hope your weekend is going well. I just woke up to more snow, not surprised at all, right, lol.
    HUGS!!

  20. Hi! So glad that you had a good weekend visiting your mom.

Making a Downton Abbey page was a great idea. Though I haven't gotten into the show (unlike the other 99% of the global population, LOL), I do adore the period costumes. Your layout has exactly the right "feel" and opulence for the show's period. Nice job!
