I would like to share with you a layout that I made for Scrap Africa's current challenge - it is going on until November 14th.
It's been a while since I have had the time to enter a challenge, so when I saw Scrap Africa's latest sketch, I decided to give it a try. The sketch for challenge #23 is this fabulous and fun PageMaps sketch:
Also, I had the October kit from ScrapTastic on hand, and it seemed like a great chance to use it and the photo that I took of Anne and her Jack-O-Lantern. Here is my completed page:
And some close-ups:
Thank you, Scrap Africa, for always inspiring me in such a fabulous way! I loved working with this wonderful PageMaps sketch!
And . . . I would also like to share some photos from our day trip to Washington, DC, last weekend. My daughter, Katie, is on the Penn State Mock Trial Team. I never got a chance to see her team compete last year, so when she said that they were going to DC, John, Anne, and I, decided to drive there for the day to watch. It was an amazing experience! I can't even begin to tell you how full of awe I was as I watched these college students compete - it was like they were in the real world and not undergrads. I am so happy that we got the opportunity to see them in action!
Here is Anne, running in anticipation of seeing Katie:
Here's the court house in Washington, DC:
The court room:
Here is Katie and her team:
And here are some sightseeing photos that we took:
Thank you so much for stopping by my blog! I hope you had a wonderful weekend. Winter weather is definitely here - it was a very blustery day today!
If you have a chance, check out Scrap Africa's latest challenge and see what their design team has made, too. Their blog is amazing!
What a gorgeous page Sharon! The background looks amazing! I'm glad we could inspire you at Scrap Africa. Thank you for playing along with our sketch.

ReplyDeleteWell, I loved that pic of Anne with Jack when you first posted it- but now... it just pops on your LO! I also really like that you continued the words across both photos. And, the plaid ribbon. There's just something about plaid...
Anyway- this is such a bright cheerful LO! You are not just carving a memory, you are crafting one!
Cute page! Lots of great little touches, including the pumpkin border and the eyelash yarn (I think that's what it's called???). The DC photos look awesome; what a great opportunity for your daughter to compete in debate there...and what an great opportunity for the rest of the family to travel to see her.
