Anne . . . home is wherever I am with you

I recently made a layout with  photo of Anne and Katie from Mother's Day, 2009. (for Color Me Scrappy's challenge going on right now!  Your still have time to take part - until April 14, 2013!)

I was amazed by how much Anne has grown in such a short period of time.  Here is a photo of her taken right before we went to her Spring party at her school when she was in kindergarten at age 6:

and here is a recent picture taken on Easter morning this year:

I can't believe that she is becoming a young lady right before my eyes!  (I went through these exact same emotions when Katie was growing up!)

I decided I wanted to make 2 separate layouts using these photos of Anne for her scrapbook.
For the first layout, using the photo of Anne from Kindergarten, I found a beautiful sketch on Scrap Africa's blog.  They have a sketch challenge going on right now if you would  like to check it out - sketch #16:

I love sketches, and felt that this one was perfect for the photo of Anne when she was 6 years old.

Here is my layout:

I was happy to win an Echo Park challenge at the 2 Peas in a Bucket site, and received this wonderfully fun paper pack afterwards as my prize:  from Echo Park's "So Happy Together" line.  And it is just that:  SO HAPPY!  I loved using the papers and stickers when I made my layout today.  (But like I said in my journaling, I wish Anne would slow down just a little . . .)  The extras that I used on my page are from the Hydrangea Hippo etsy store. I participated in one of their blog hops, and won a gift card to their store.  I can't tell you how much I enjoyed this amazing shop.  If you want to find things that are cool and different for your scrapbook pages or crafts, you should check it out.

And stay tuned . . . I am going to make a layout using Anne's photo from Easter Sunday, and I want to share it with you!

I hope you are all enjoying your weekend.  It seems like Spring is finally here.  The sun is out and we are supposed to have temps in the 50's today!  YAY!  Thank you so much for stopping by m y blog today!

  5. You are always so cheery and positive, Sharon! Congrats on the EP win. I know what you mean about being emotional as children grow up: I think the feeling is even stronger when you only have one child and everything is the FIRST and LAST for you as a parent. Your LO is sweet. Enjoy those 50 degree temps- would love if you could send some cold our way. We are supposed to be in the 80's by Wednesday- ugh! I think I was born too close to the equator (would love some actual winter! lol)
