My very first art journal page!

I have been really inspired by all of the beautiful and creative art journals and pages that are out there these days.  I have always loved to keep a written journal, so keeping an ART journal sounded and looked very intriguing! And the best part about it is that the possibilities are limitless!!  Keeping an art journal is such a wonderful way to remember all of these things in a beautiful and meaningful way - to me!

There are so many inspirational blogs right around the corner!  Scrapping the Music  has so many talented people participating in the challenges, and a lot of them submit the coolest art-journal pages!  And speaking of Scrapping the Music, the design team coordinator is Michelle who's blog, so appropriately entitled "Inspiration Everywhere," is filled with all kinds of inspiration and creativity!!!  In addition, some of my fellow (and  very talented, I might add!) design team members keep art journals, too, and their blogs are equally as amazing and inspiring.  Patricia's and Linda's blogs both have wonderful examples of their art journal pages.

But what really inspired me to make my very first pages happened during my blog-hop this morning!  I came across my good friend, Kelly's blog.  She had actually made her first art journal page, too, and she goes through the process of her inspiration and how she made it!  I love reading her blog!!!

I have to tell you, Kelly, I just ordered the journal that you suggested from Amazon.com!  Thanks for the inspiration, my friend.   I have a pseudo art journal because my daughters got tired of hearing me wine about wanting to start one, and bought me a "Smash Book" (by K & Company) at our local Hobby Lobby. And without any further ado, here is my page.
(Please keep in mind that it is my first atempt!)

I used fabric, mod-podge, paper, mists, and flower iron-ons from Donna Downey.  I took the photo of the flowers I planted at the beginning of the summer and the lyrics from a favorite Beatles' song!  Pretty simple, huh?

Thank you all for stopping by my blog today.  And thanks so much for your inspiration, too! I can't wait to get my new journal and get started with more in-depth techniques . . .  I think I am hooked!
