Hi everyone! I am very excited to be the host of Art Journal Journey Monthly for the month of December:
Here is a little bit about Art Journal Journey Monthly:
"Each month there is a new challenge theme for you to take part in. Our participants are art-journalers, altered book artists, rubber stamp addicts, and mixed media artists from all over the world. You are invited to take part by linking via the Link tool on their site.
Please be considerate and remember that greeting cards, ATCs, and tags will not be accepted unless they are part of your journal page, and we will be forced to delete the link.
However, as of November 1, 2021, we are no longer limiting the size of the journal or journal pages. If you want to create a mini journal, it will be accepted. However, it must look like a journal and not a card or tag.
Artwork created in an art journal, altered book, on canvas, or loose pages as well as digital and fabric art of any size are now acceptable."
My theme for December is "Snow." You can interpret it in many ways - snowfall, snow storms, snow flakes, etc. Or you can use your imagination, for instance "the snowball effect!"
Here is the first page I created for December:
I took this photo on one of my morning walks last year - it just happened to be on Christmas Eve day! For my layout, I used pattered paper that I had on hand that had a snow flake background. I added matts and my photo, then some more die cut buildings, a tree, snow flakes and my title . . . and I was finished!
I am very honored to have been asked to host Art Journal Journey this month. I hope you get a chance to head over to their blog. You will be amazed at all of the beautiful entries you will see from talented artists all over the world!
I cannot wait to see what YOU create.
Thanks so much for stopping by my blog today. Happy December. Enjoy the hustle and bustle of the holiday season.
I love this first page Sharon. You have such a fun style and that photo is gorgeous. You definitely have a beautiful place to walk. And it's always fun to look at the bits and pieces you add, like the little village. Great layering too. I'm so excited you are hosting for us this month, and snow will be a really fun challenge. hugs-Erika
ReplyDeleteAnd Happy December to you also!
ReplyDeleteI always LOVE your scrapbook pages. If I ever decide to make scrapbooks instead of altered art, I want you to mentor me. Your first page is stunning. I am in total awe of the various ephemera you chose. Thanks for being our host this month at AJJ.
