Go Where Your Dreams Take You!

Hi everyone.  I hope January is treating you all nicely!!!

Today I would like to share a layout that I made for the January Art Journal Journey challenge!

It has been such a long time since I have participated in their challenges and I have missed them so much.  If you have a chance, you should visit their site here if only to see all of the talented people that enter each month!  This month's challenge is hosted by Erica, aka BioArtGal.  Her theme is very appropriate for January:  "New Year, New Adventures."

For this challenge, I used a photo that was taken of John, Katie, Anne, and me walking away from the camera . . . towards new adventures.

Here is the page I created:

I loved using papers and products from the Blue Fern Studios beautiful "Wanderlust" collection.

Here is a close up:

And a different view:

Here are the Blue Fern Studios products that I used:

Paper: Wanderlust "Lakeside"
Chipboard: Arching Leaves, Wanderlust printed Chipboard shapes
Embossing Powder: Green Ivory, Blue Sky
Flowers:  Wanderlust Lilies

Thank you so much, Art Journal Journey and Blue Fern Studios for giving me the inspiration to make my layout today.

And thank YOU for your visit to my blog.

Hugs!!! I hope you get to enjoy many new adventures this year!

  1. Sharon this is a brilliant take on the challenge. I love the photo-it's a great idea to take one of everyone walking off on the way to a new adventure. I hope the adventure was a good one. Thanks for joining us at AJJ. Hugs-Erika

  2. Oh Sharon, it's been far too long since I visited you. I apologize because life sometimes gets in the way. Every time I visit your blog, I think if I ever scrapbooked, I would want to make my layouts look as ingenious as yours. Not only do you take both beautiful and relevant photos, you turn them into to-die-for pages. This is a beautiful entry and fits Erika's theme to a T. Thanks for sharing it with us at Art Journal Journey.

  9. Gorgeous layout, Sharon. Your pages are always stunning. I love these layers and how you've used the paper to tie in with the theme of the walk in the woods. Thanks for visiting my blog and your kind comments. Whilst I wasn't blogging I was making a big scrapbook for my daughter of her wedding the previous year. I popped in here for inspiration because I've always loved your pages.

  16. Beautiful page, as always. I just love your style and the way you use products that enhance your photos rather than compete with them.

  17. Beautifully scrapped Sharon - the perfect background paper to compliment your lovely photo too.
Thanks for the lovely comment you left on my last post - you mentioned about having unfinished projects - well I must have about six 12 x 12 and two 8 x 8 scrapbooks to finish - but I always have too many ideas and things on the go and probably need to be better focused on finishing things first before starting something else ha ha :) ( must visit here more often to remind me to scrap more).
Belated New Years greetings to you and yours - hope its a great year.
