Today I would like to share a layout I made for the Scrap our Stash Sketch challenge - #31. Here's the wonderful sketch by guest sketch artist Christine Meyer:
The challenge is to create a layout inspired by Christine's sketch AND...you must include METAL on your page.
I really enjoyed working with Christine's sketch! I used just one photo for my layout and added 2 frames on either side to mimic her sketch. For the metal part of the challenge, I added some metal brads and a metal circular paper clip. Here is my layout:
I just got a new star template from "Stampin Up" and LOVED using it with gold and white texture paste for the star background. Of course, I scrapped a photo of my two favorite stars!!! I also found the lyrics to an old Madonna song that I like entitled "Lucky Star."
Here are some different views:
And to get you in the mood for Halloween, I took a photo when the sun was just setting a couple of nights ago. Spooktacular!
Happy Halloween! Hugs to all!!!
Oh I like that - your interpretation is so unique. What a wonderfully dramatic page with a softness to it. I like it!
ReplyDeleteI love the layered frames! Great interpretation of the sketch.
ReplyDeleteBlue and stars and your beautiful girls --- love this, Sharon.
ReplyDeleteHi there! What a fabulous layout with all the stars! I love how your background looks! And a lovely take on the sketch using the frames, what a clever idea! And of course the layout shines because of the wonderful photo! And that is an amazing scene in the photo! Enjoy the rest of the week!
ReplyDeleteSo gorgeous! LOVING the colors and the stars!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteI leeerve those stars Sharon! Another gorgeous pic of your girls too. <3

Love the stars!
ReplyDeleteOooo! Love the yellow and purple combo, and those pops of gold are perfection!
ReplyDeleteOh Halloween, please come and be gone....so life can carry on....in Oz, you see, it's not really celebrated & seems quite twee.....but spooks must have their day to come & have a play. I guess. Or something like that!!! ANYWAYS, apart from extemporaneous & even 'twee-er' poetry....I LOVE your LO. I have that star stencil & absolutely agree....those brads look WAY cool & I have those little round metal clips...thank you! Now I know what to do with them:) Gorgeous page of your two beautiful girls:):)
ReplyDeleteOoooh, its so beautiful!! And I love the reference to Madonna, it's just perfect ;) AND congratulations on your new blog collaboration - I checked it out and it looks like so much fun ;) xoox
ReplyDeleteHello Sharon!! Thanks so much for your blog comments, love seeing them! The Middle was a little better this time, hoping it continues to be good as before and G rated too please. It's my only show I watch, I look forward to it and the laughs it gives me.
ReplyDeleteLOVE LOVE this layout, so pretty and your girls how sweet!! I just took a walk under the stars and it was beautiful. We've had warm temps again, YAY!! soaking it up while I can and winter gets here.
Your photo is pretty and just right for Halloween! It was so weird for us this year, nothing went right and it was our first time not treating, kids are too big now. We didn't know what to do, lol. Next year we will plan better.
I'm excited about my retreats, sad to miss my family but I know it will be good for me to go. Will hopefully get some good pictures and share them when I'm back.
Hope all is well, your husband and family too. One day at a time friend. Sending hugs and love :)
First, I have to say how spectacular that photo is. Wow!!!! Simply WOW!!
ReplyDeleteLove your page...it shines.
Very nice work with your slant on the sketch. I like the way you have the empty frames on either side of the photo, that's very effective, and the stars on the blue background look great.
