The love of a friend!

Good Morning everyone and welcome to the second week of May.  Yes, May seems to be marching right along, as does Spring.  It will be summer before we know it!

  ♥ ♥

Today is reveal day at Challenge YOUrself, and I would like to share the layout I made for the current challenge.  This month it is all about Girls!  The challenge is to scrap a photo of YOU and a female or females in your life.  It can be a mother, daughter, sister, friend, pet, etc!  Use your imagination! And the special part about this challenge is that we get to use a fun sketch by Lynn L.

Thinking back, I decided to make a layout using photos of me and my best friend, Barb!  My twin sister, Karen, actually took these fun pictures of the two of us at Arrowhead Lake this past summer.

Here is my finished layout:

I used the lyrics from a favorite old song, "That's What Friends Are For:"

I really enjoyed adding the banner at the top as in the sketch, but changed it up a bit:

And I embellished the word "Love" with black ink and glitter:

For the background, I feel like I cheated a bit here.  I used a page from Glitz's Wild and Free collection:

I barely had to do anything to the background!  I added a little bit of bling here and there with some jazzed up Gesso, and that's all I did!!!  (Cheating, right? LOL  )

Here are some photos that I took that weekend at Arrowhead Lake:

Anne on her bike:

Barb and Karen:

And the beautiful trees reflecting on the lake:

It was a magical time and we hope to have many more amazing weekends there this summer!

Be sure to check out Challenge YOUrself this month!  And have a wonderful Wednesday everyone!    Happy Hump Day! ♥

Thank you so much for visiting my blog!

I'd say its a fairly modern song...since I remember it well....& even started singing along with the lyrics you'd written!!!!! It's old when I'm old & that ain't happening for a while yet!!!!!!!

  12. Hi Sharon,
Happy Friday! I LOVE this layout, that background is amazing! Great that you used a photo of you and your sister, love that! It's not cheating at all, you made it look pretty all on your own.
What a pretty place to visit, you always have such great places you visit. Maybe we need to do that more.
It feels like summer these last two days, YAY!!! I do hope it stays for good this time. I have been scrapping all week still, will be sharing on my Tuesday post.
Did you watch the Middle? OMG, that was crazy with Frankie and her car, I knew she lost it there, so funny. I saw the first Middle on repeat last night, they were so much younger then, can't believe it's been that long and how big they are now. I loved it seeing it again.
Take care and HAPPY EARLY MOTHER'S DAY TO YOU DEAR FRIEND!! Hope the day is filled with lots of love and hugs and you being spoiled!
