The final week for the Summer of Color; and week 2, Book of Days!

Good Morning everyone!  If you live in Eastern United States, you know that we are going through an extreme heat wave.  The heat and humidity have been so high the past few days, it is almost impossible to get outside to get anything done!  The average temps have been in the high 90's with the heat index going up into the 110's!!  WOW!  Stay cool everyone . . .

Since I was not able to do much outside last evening, I am worked on my project for the Summer of Color.  I cannot believe that it is Week 6 already!

The time literally flew by.  This week's colors are sage and sepia!  I love these earthy colors, and they seemed perfect for my Book of Days assignment, too.

Here is my finished 2-page spread:

I have been pretty stressed out lately, and this is all about my feelings regarding my decision to leave  my present job and to starting a brand new one in August.  One of my favorite songs is "Reflection" from the Disney movie, "Mulan."  I used the lyrics from that song and a picture that I found on the web as the basis for my pages.

If you open the flap, there are more lyrics:

Making these pages was very therapeutic for me!

In addition I would like to share some of my favorite "reflection" pictures from last year:

This one was taken at the Women's 5K Classic!

And both of these photos were taken last Fall at Jacobsberg Park!

It's such a beautiful place to walk and reflect!

And I will leave you with one last look at both pages:

Thank you so much for stopping by my blog today.  Have a wonderful Friday!  TGIF!!!!!  Stay cool!

I will miss Summer of Color - goodbye and thank you all for your wonderful inspiration and support!  Thanks Kristen, so much, for hosting these challenges!

  5. Sharon, I'm so happy to see your art journal again!! I thought for sure you'd do a nature picture layout.

I love this so much, it's beautiful. The colors are great and the image/lyrics are so nice together. Those extra photos are gorgeous and so neat. I love taking reflection pictures too. So glad you played along with SOC, hope you will next summer too.
I didn't get anything done yet for SOC, it's been a busy week and my ideas aren't coming out right. Will keep trying though. I do have a PL post on blog now though.

OH MAN IS IT HOT!! I have been stuck inside all week too. Did do a little walking thru the garden and it's growing so big and pretty! Sitting inside with the A/C on for this long drives me crazy, can't wait for the cool down to start.
    HAPPY TGIF TO YOU!!

  7. Your journal pages are fabulous. I love the saying. It asks the basic question so many of us ask of ourselves. And I love the reflection, too.

But that is NOT hot (grin). Hot is the midwest, where the heat is overwhelming, the humidity is so thick you drink it, and the AC runs relentlessly day and night. Right now it's over 100 F here.
