Happy Easter, a new Color Me Scrappy challenge, and exciting news!

I hope you all had a very happy Easter holiday!  I enjoyed (and still am enjoying!) having a 4 day weekend and am looking forward to spending today with my family!

I would like to share some pictures with you!  Come follow me through the past weekend:

Friday afternoon:  attending Anne's friend's 10th birthday party:
Roller skating!  (yes, one of those feet belongs to me!!!)

As you can see, the kids had a blast:

Saturday morning:  decorating eggs:

Saturday afternoon:   Easter egg hunt at the Fearless Fire Company:
(It was Anne's last year being able to participate in the egg hunt because the cut-off age is 10.
It was a bitter sweet day!)

Later Saturday afternoon:  Celebrating my sister's birthday:
Here she is opening up her gifts with her son helping her!

Awwwwwwwww!

Easter Sunday:
What a beautiful "SUNrise!"

Anne looking very beautiful after church:

My sisters, my mom, and me:
This picture was taken in my mom's back yard just before it started raining like crazy!

It was a busy, weekend, filled with so much joy!

And if you noticed, Katie was not in any of these pictures because she was not able to make it home for Easter this year.  We missed her very much!  I made her this card for her, and Anne made sure that the Easter Bunny made a special trip to  Penn State!  When we were driving home from my mom's, Anne said:  "I am very sad!"  I asked her why, and she told me that she missed Katie.  So Anne called Katie right then and there, and she felt much better after talking to her.  I think Katie's going away to college has been hardest on Anne.

I would like to share Color Me Scrappy's latest challenge with you!

Challenge #35 really depicts the colors of Spring beautifully!

Christina Collins designed an amazing sketch for this challenge:

Isn't it fun?

And here is my take:

I loved the colors for this challenge.  I decided to dust off my Cricut again, and make pieces for my banner using my old "Plantin Schoolbook" cartridge!  I also wanted to make the photo collage into the form of a home.  This photo of Katie and Anne was taken on Mother's Day in 2009.  Oh my goodness, hasn't Anne grown since then?!  and Katie is just a pretty as ever!!!  I really love her smile.

If you are interested in participating in challenge #35, please check out Color me Scrappy's blog here.  The challenge runs through 4/14/13.

  4. That page is so cute- I love the idea of making the 4 photos into a window of a house. Looks like you guys had a great weekend- going to pull any pranks today? My kiddo is obsessed with the idea. She spends all year trying to plan but then she tells them all to me and can't fool me when the day comes!

  19. Lovely morning sunrise photo, Sharon! Ten-shmen! Your daughter might not be able to participate at the public egg hunt, but we STILL hide eggs for our College Girl. She would not ask us to do it, but Daddy and I just hide them and then I go take a basket to her and say I think Easter Bunny hid eggs in the yard- want to help me collect them? LOL! The last two years she has really got a kick out of looking for the glow in the dark eggs we hid. Congrats on being part of the DT- you rock!
    hugs :)
