Saying goodbye to Scrapping the Music . . .

It is with a heavy heart that I write this post this morning.  It almost feels like I shouldn't be posting anything because of the senseless, terrible tragedy that occurred at the elementary school in Connecticut yesterday.  My heart goes out to everyone and I am saying prayers for all.  I know that you all hugged your loved ones a little harder last night . . .

I am also writing to announce the closing of Scrapping the Music.  Michelle, our coordinator, has been with Scrapping the Music for 4 years and the site has been open for 5 & 1/2 years.  It is time to close the challenge site and move on . . . .  It was not an easy decision to make, and I join in with Michelle and all of our design teams' sadness over the closing.  But if you are still interested in and am inspired by music, come join us over at Flickr!  Michelle started a Flickr group called "Art Inspired by Music" and you can see that some creations have already been downloaded there!

Check it out:

 Art Inspired by Music...

OK:  here is the layout that I made to say goodbye to Scrapping the Music:

I used the Muppets' song "Saying Goodbye" as the inspiration for my layout.  I am filled with emotion and can honestly say that I love Scrapping the Music and I have enjoyed being on their design team for the past 2 years.  It has been the absolute best scrapping experience of my life.  I have met so many talented and wonderful people and I want to thank you all for giving me this amazing opportunity!!

The design team also wanted to share Christmas layouts with you that were inspired by a song. Check out the blog here:  Scrapping the Music

I have always loved Amy Grant's music and lyrics, especially her Christmas music.  Here is the layout that I made for Christmas:

I used my most favorite Christmas song of all time, Love Has Come.  The photos featured here were taken last year on Christmas morning.

Again, I would like to say a heartfelt "goodbye" to Scrapping the Music and all of the present and past design team members that I worked with.  I love all of you and respect your talent creatively so much.  Thank you, once again, for the opportunity to work on Scrapping the Music, Michelle!  But it's really not goodbye - I will see you and the rest of the design team at Flickr.

Hope to see all of you there, too!!!

  2. I'm so sorry you had to close STM, that must have been hard. It was always fun to see what Michelle would make on her blog and inspired me many times to think of doing this. I'm glad their will be a flickr for this!! Thanks for the cool idea of this and how it inspired many. Music touches so many people in this world and it's nice to have a place to share art and music together.
