Scrap-Friendzy is having a birthday party all month long!

Good evening everyone!  Scrap-Friendzy is celebrating it's 5th birthday all month long this month!

As a new member of their design team, I have been asked to create 2 challenges for their month-long party.  So much fun!

For my very first challenge, I wanted the participants to use a song for their inspiration.  Especially because I  have been inspired so much by music and through the blog "Scrapping the Music!"
So here is how I posted my challenge:

For challenge #3, I would like you to find a song that you are inspired by and scrap about it! It can be about the lyrics, the title of the song, or the memory the song evokes!

In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, I chose the song by Melissa Etheridge, "I Run For Life."
I am a cancer survivor, so this song is near and dear to my heart. My sisters and I walk or run in the Women's 5K Classic every year in Allentown, PA, and this song is played during the survivors parade!

The lyrics are as follows:

It's been years since they told her about it
The darkness her body possessed
And the scars are still there in the mirror
Every day that she gets herself dressed
Though the pain is miles and miles behind her
And the fear is now a docile beast
If you ask her why she is still running
She'll tell you it makes her complete

I run for hope
I run to feel
I run for the truth
For all that is real
I run for your mother your sister your wife
I run for you and me my friend:| I run for life
It's a blur since they told me about it
How the darkness had taken it's toll
And they cut into my skin and they cut into my body
But they will never get a piece of my soul
And now I'm still learning the lesson
To awake when I hear the call
And if you ask me why I am still running
I'll tell you I run for us all

I run for hope
I run to feel
I run for the truth
For all that is real
I run for your mother your sister your wife
I run for you and me my friend:| I run for life

And someday if they tell you about it
If the darkness knocks on your door
Remember her remember me
We will be running as we have before
Running for answers
Running for more

I run for hope
I run to feel
I run for the truth
For all that is real
I run for your mother your sister your wife
I run for you and me my friend
I run for hope
I run to feel
I run for the truth
For all that is real
I run for your mother your sister your wife
I run for you and me my friend. I run for life

I run for your mother your sister your daughter your wife
I run for you and me my friend. I run for life

The photo of me and my daughter, Anne, was taken by my sister, Karen!  Incidentally, she has participated in the Women's 5K Classic in Allentown every year since it has started 20 years ago!  WOW Kar!  You are an inspiration to us all!

My second challenge was posted as follows:
Hi everyone and welcome to Scrap-Friendzy's Birthday Bash Challenge #6!

Since it is Scrap-Friendzy's 5th birthday, I would like you to create a scrapbook page or any project you like in honor of a birthday! You can make it about a birthday party you attended, yours or family member's birthday, or even a birthday gift that you make for someone special!

I created this layout using a photo of my twin sister, Karen, and me! It was taken this past weekend as we were celebrating our birthdays up at Penn State University. We were visiting my daughter, Katie, who is a freshman for the first time since she went away to college. It was so wonderful to get to see her and to celebrate our birthdays, too.

And there are lots more challenges already posted and to be posted in the next 2 weeks.  So if you feel in the mood for a party, stop by Scrap-Friendzy for fun, friendship, and lots of crafty inspiration!
