Reach for the Stars, Katie!

Good Morning everyone!  Happy Thursday!  I am so happy that the weekend is almost here.  It has been a crazy week - at work and at home! Whew!

Today I would like to share with you a page that I made with the Scraptastic Kit Club's August "Barn Door" kit!  When I saw Heather's layouts posted at scrapbook.com made with this kit, I really wanted to try it out!  Check out her gallery here!  And the Scraptastic Kit Club's blog here!

Here is a photo of the kit:

August 2012 Barn Door Kit

I wanted to scrap photos from Katie's graduation ceremony, and using this kit seemed like the perfect way to do it!  I added some things from my own stash, including the Basic Grey "Clippings" stickers
and the scallop and rosette die cut from Tim Holtz:

Tim Holtz Decorative Strip Die Mini Paper Rosettes

I bought my die-cut machine at my local scrapbook store that has closed - I am still very sad about that and miss going there so much!  I have the big-shot die cut machine and used the Tim Holtz Rosette die cut!

I also machine stitched the borders - I really like how stitching draws your eye in to the photo!
Here is my layout:

Don't you just love the neutrals of this kit?  I do! I am hoping I get some time to scrap more his weekend.

Thanks, Heather, for turning me on to the Scaptastic Kit Club!  And thanks Jessica for putting together such an awesome kit!

And a great big thanks TO YOU for stopping by and visiting my blog today!  Your visits and comments mean so much to me.  Have a great Thursday everyone!
