Who I Am

I try to be a good role model for my daughters!  It's not always easy, especially when life's frustrations and  disappointments come along . . .
I want my daughters to know that I will try to do just what I hope they will do in any disappointing situation.  Brush myself off and get right back up and start all over again!!!!  Because God has a bigger plan for all of us, including me!!!!!  I just know it!

So, here is a layout I made using the lyrics to a favorite "feel-good-about-yourself" song "Who I Am" by Jessica Andrews.  I modified some of the lyrics.

You can find her beautiful song here:

Here is the page I created using a picture that my mom gave me in an album on one of my birthdays!  It is a photo of her holding me.  My sisters, Cathy and Karen are standing next to us.  Karen and I were 3 years old at the time.  I absolutely LOVE this picture of the 4 of us.  It is filled with wonderful memories.

 And my layout:

I modified some of the lyrics to Jessica Andrew's song as follows for my journaling:
"If I live to be a hundred, and never see the seven wonders, that'll be alright.  If I don't make a big design team, if I never make it to the big times, I'm gonna be just fine 'cause I know exactly who I am:
I am Evelyn's granddaughter.  The spitting image of my mother.  And when the day is done, my sister's still my biggest fan.  Sometimes I'm clueless and I'm clumsy.  But I've got friends that love me.  And they know just where I stand.  It's all a part of me and that's who I am.
So when I make a big mistake. When I fall flat on my face.  I know I'll be alright.  Should my heart be broken, I will cry some teardrops knowing I will be just fine 'cause nothing changes who I am:
I am Evelyn's granddaughter.  The spitting image of my mother.  And when the day is done, my sister's still my biggest fan.  Sometimes I'm clueless and I'm clumsy.  But I've got friends that love me.  And they know just where I stand.  It's all a part of me and that's who I am!"

I used an awesome sketch from the My Creative Sketches blog:

And it's FRIDAY night everyone!  Woohoo!  TGIF!!!!  Enjoy your weekend and the cooler weather.  We got some much needed rain here in Nazareth, PA, today. Yay!  Thank you so much for stopping by my blog.

Oh, I almost forgot to tell you . . . the papers that I used for my layout are the new Basic Grey "Clippings" papers.  I actually won the packet!!  See, just when you think things are looking glum, you win a pack of scrapbook papers!   Life is good!

  8. Congrats on winning the packet!! This is such a fabulous LO. Love the journaling and this photo of your mom with you and your sisters - how precious. You are so right that it can be a challenge to be a role model for our children, but sometimes I think the Lord uses how we handle our failures as much or more to influence our precious children than perfection. Our children can see if we are focused on going our own way or striving to serve Him. ~ Blessings, Tracey
