My twin sister is a runner! She started running about 10 years ago, and has not stopped since. She absolutely amazes me with her persistence and stamina. She has run numerous 5-K's, 10-K's, 5 milers, and 10 milers. In addition, she ran quite a few 1/2 marathons, and even a full marathon at Disney World!
I have tried to run, but cannot get past a 5-K! That's my limit. Sometime I can't even believe that we are twins. I have NO desire to run, at all! Ha-Ha!
Here are some photos from Karen's most recent run - the Philadelphia 10-Miler. She went down with her husband, Tim, who has been a great supporter of hers and one of her biggest fans. Along with me!!!
Here Karen's husband, Tim: (can you tell they are both Phillies fans???)
The finish line was at the Navy Yard:
Here it is:
And a photo of her at the end with her medal. She doesn't even look tired to me.
She's my hero!
Your sister is awesome!!! I think it's so cool that you shared how proud you are of her here. Those photos are great! I see a scrapbook page in your future... LOL
ReplyDeleteThat's so terrific! Your sister looks as though she's over-the-moon happy in that last photo!
ReplyDeleteThank you very much for your lovely comment tonight over at Chronically Vintage, Sharon, I always love it when you stop by.

ReplyDeleteHi love... I wanted you to know, that I did just get your email...and I have tried to reply twice...but I am getting one of those 'Mail Administrator Mail System Error - Returned Mail' emails back to me saying it can't be sent??? weird...since you just wrote me... :( Anywho... ReplyDeleteAwesome!
ReplyDeleteI think people who can run are awesome. Go Karen!
ReplyDeleteP/s: I hate running. I would rather do 30 minutes of kick-boxing rather than run for 10 minutes....Runners often talk of the runner's high...I get the runner's low...lol..
Good for her! I envy people who can run more than a block. That says a lot about my level of activity, huh?
ReplyDeleteWow! That is amazing! I would be proud of her too! I am lucky to "walk" around the block! LOL!
ReplyDeleteHow awesome is that! I had no idea you had a twin. It goes to show you that we are each our own individual selves. And I'm not a huge runner either...tried it, but walking is my FAV!
