Happy Mother's Day

Happy Mother's Day to eveyone out there in blog land!

My family really didn't know what to get me this year, so I asked for a photography class. Boy, did I get a GREAT one.

My good friend, Barbarann, arranged to have the class at her home. We went down to a nearby farm to do our practice shots - what a beautiful place to apply what we learned!!!

The owners of the farm collect antiques - such amazing stuff:

Lisa taught the class - you can read and see more about her and her photography on her blog at http://www.thelongroadtochina.blogspot.com/

She arranged for us to have two amazing models, one, a friend of Lisa:

and the second, Barbarann's daughter:

Oh, and I amost forgot our third model, Josie:

Lisa really showed us how to get that good shot:

This class was the perfect reason for me to get my new camera out of the box and use it. I have been so busy since Christmas, that I hardly even used my new Canon Rebel.

Lisa made the class fun - we had "class time" then practiced what we learned at the farm, then had more class time, then had another outdoor session. And . . . Lisa gave each one of us a binder filled with information to take home.

The whole experience was amazing!!!!!

And the best part was that I got to spend time with good friends, and meet some new ones in the process. And enjoy a most beautiful Spring day.

Here is the owner of the farm (our fourth model!) with his beautiful dog, Josie.

One last shot:

  3. Wow- what a great gift! How are you liking your Canon? It's on my wish list...
Sounds like your class was tailor made for you and your friends. I'm going to see if there is anything like that around here. I could use some instruction and practice time with different settings, lighting, etc.
    Have an awesome Mother's Day!

  11. Wow Sharon, a photography class. A GIFT to last a life time. Now every time you pick up your Canon Rebel and take a photo (no matter what, no matter were, and no matter when) you will be reminded of what a loving, thoughtful family you have. GREAT Photos BTW!!! You were obviously a stellar student.
