Colours are the Smiles of Nature . . . for ArtStacks and Art Journal Journey Monthly!

Hi everyone!  I am here today sharing an art journal page that I made for ArtStacks.  

I used Tamara Laporte's (#willowing) "Trick or Treat" pack:

Here is the mixed media art journal page that I made:

I used Tam’s new and super cool Seasonal Celebrations “Trick or Treat” pack.

Here’s what I did:

• First, I printed out the image of the women (with pumpkins) from the digital pack to use as the main focus. I love printing digital images because I can choose exactly what size I want them to be!
• Next, I picked a piece of coordinating turquoise background paper and adhered it to a page in my manilla art journal.
• I added some black stenciling.
• I tore the bottom of the beautiful image from Tam’s printed pack and glued it to the top of my page.
• I used machine stitching to attach my main focal image and added some fussy cut images to each side.
• Next I added Claire Stead’s scribbled circles from her “Colourful Zine Kit.”
• I attached the “Colours” sentiment from the “Trees and Leaves” pack using pop dots at the bottom.
• I added some black and white ink splatter.
• And finally, I adhered the image of the black cat sitting on the pumpkin at the bottom of my page. (I like that the cat is looking directly at my sentiment!)

I thoroughly enjoyed creating this art journal page. Combining printed and digital images was  a real treat!
