I came across a beautiful challenge blog the other day, entitled Scrap Africa!
I recognized some of my scrappy friends on the design team, so I thought I would give one of their challenges a try. Then I read on and found out that challenge #12's subject is "filmstrip!" I thought it was a pretty cool coincidence and that I just purchased Tim Holtz's filmstrip die cut at Hobby Lobby, so I had to make a page for this challenge.
Here is my layout created just for Scrap Africa:
I used another photo that I took right after the first snowfall we had in late November. I went out to take pictures of the snow, and turned around and saw my shadow. It was a pretty magical moment, so I wanted to capture it on a scrapbook page.
Thank you, Scrap Africa, for the wonderful inspiration!!!
I hope you are all enjoying the hustle and bustle of the holiday season! Thank you for stopping by my blog today!
I love the color combo here and you have used the filmstrip beautifully! Hope you have a very Merry Christmas and all the best to you in the New Year!
ReplyDeleteHi, Sharon! Thanks for coming by my blog today! It gave me a chance to pop in on yours as well! Love how you've used the film strip over that truly unique photo! Your title work is really cool! Hope you have a great Christmas and Happy New Year!
ReplyDeleteYayyyyyyyyyyyyyy!! I am so glad you played along with Scrap Africa!! LOVING the photos, the colors, and the way you used the film strips!! FABULOUS!!!
ReplyDeleteLOVE that LO- the embellishments work so well with the subtle blues from the photo, and I think the wooden background is perfect!
ReplyDeleteWe got a few flakes of snow last Saturday. Mixed with rain, of course, but it was so fun to drive and see the snow swirling about! It only lasted about 45 minutes, but I will take what I can get!
Take care and have a wonderful Christmas with your family!

You kept the color pallette very simple in shades of blue and beige and it goes so well with the photo. I have a similar photo, however, taken at the beach and I am wondering if I can pick up on some of your design elements for my own layout ...
ReplyDeleteHappy 2013, Andrea
By the way, I also participated in the challenge, have a look at my blog and if you like, become a memeber http://paperscrapsandscissors.blogspot.com/
