I was able to take a 1/2 day off work, which made it possible for me to attend. Thank you, bosses for allowing this at such short notice!
As I arrived at the tea, we were greeted by our children who took our coats. Then we had yummy treats to pick from:
Here's a close up of Anne's:
A slide show accompanied the readings:
and afterwards, Anne and her friend posed for a photo for me:
I got to take her book of poems home with me!
I can't tell you how much I enjoyed seeing this wonderful display of talent by Anne and the rest of the students in her class. It was awesome! Children certainly are our future . . .
Thank you to her teacher for hosting this wonderful event.
It sounds like an awesome event! Anne is such a cutie. Jordan had an author's tea in first grade that was wonderful but it wasn't as fancy as that one.

Anne is getting so BIG! Thanks for your visit, it meant so much to me. Been so busy with the new house...I don't get out much anymore, but that's gonna change soon! Happy Holiday's my sweet friend!

She's really good with "art journaling". Wonder where she learned that?
ReplyDeleteHello Sharon~ WHat a treat for you and the other parents...so glad you had the opportunity to take off work. Perhaps Anne will continue to appreciate the written word as she grows older, especially with events like this to encourage it. Thank you for visiting my blog. I always look forward to your uplifting comments. Merry Christmas, sweet lady.

This is such a beautiful idea for an event at a school! At my children's elementary school, there was always a Mother's Day tea. Love those special times :)
